You'll struggle to get a better GPU in a laptop for that price. Should play almost everything at 30fps on medium.

now i can play final fantasy 14 between classes as my surface pro aint up to the task

Thanks

only crappy 100mbit ethernet if that matters to anyone (It would to me, that's why I bring it up)

I have an older version of the "Z" series, never missed a beat, best value for money when I bought it.

Definitely the lenovo. The one youve linked has a slightly (and I mean slightly) better processor (http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-3210M-vs-Intel-Core-i3-3120M). However, the lenovo has a graphics card which is amazing at this price point (graphics cards will make running games/high end photo work much smoother), and a better hard drive. Get the lenovo definitely, its worth well more than this. I own one- an i5 version that I added 4gb of ram too, and the build quality is excellent.

No one mentioned screen res yet?

if only it were i5 :'(

Why would that make a difference? Have you ever monitored throughput? Just reading numbers on spec sheet without knowing much me thinks....

Good value laptop.

They seem to slap "Dolby" on anything these days it cheapens it but I'm still voting for it even if it is just an i3.

Wow thanks, just what I was looking for!

*insert pointless comment complaining about some feature which if it had would make the perfect machine*

hot

For anyone with gaming intentions for this, the graphics are a LITTLE weak. I have a 4 year old i5 (1st gen) with 5870m in that would still almost run rings around this (that said, I paid twice the money for it). It's leaps and bounds better than the general onboard you get with a laptop so for general use and some very casual gaming it's a decent buy.

Did vote hot, can't argue for the money

I agree good value if you don't do anything network-y other than internet... but I do a lot of work involving large file transfers between systems. It does strike me as a bit odd they couldn't afford to spend the extra 20cents to give it a gigabit NIC

Its an older model

Thanks, good deal this.

Bought the i5 version of this with 6gb ram few months back for £429. Good machine, but have to spend a few hours clearing all the bloat that is pre installed that stops windows updating! After that, great machine for everyday use. Battery doesn't last very long compared to other machines but all depends what you want it for! Voted hot from me!

That would seem a better deal than this if you could stretch the extra £50? Presumably no longer available?

Hot!

GPU is Nvidia GT635m 1gb Should really have this in the title and/or description because 1gb dedicated graphics can range from being amazing to really bad.

Not at the moment but has been that price a few times after I bought it. Also, website says 2x USB 3, mine inly has one, and I can only see one in the picture.

Since when has ebuyer been a good place to buy laptops?! I used to be a regular customer of theirs but then their prices stopped being competitive and I've not ordered from them in a long time now.

If it had a 1080p screen, it would of been perfect.

numpty!

Does seem like a good deal in theory - but my IdeaPad died a few days ago, Lenovo completely ignoring me, rubbish customer services. Just thought I'd put it out there.

Coincidentally my Z500 posted a couple of month ago for £409 also failed. Hard disk died. Getting a refund from Amazon was painless even after 30 days. In hindsight should have gone to CS for repairs since deals such as those are few and far between and has made me a little apprehensive in making a similar purchase with the same brand.

Surely that's illegal? Not even complying to eu legislation never mind SoGA?

Of course it makes a difference. My laptop only has 100mbit ethernet and I can't max out my 120mb Virgin BB. A USB 3 gigabit adaptor allows me to. It would make even more difference when we get upgraded to 152mb. I'd only be able to get 60% of my BB capability.

Can't see backlit keyboard in the specs anywhere.

Condition? Thats a question for ebuyer lol. It will be sellable, probably mild cosmetic damage.

A simple side by side would tell you which is better. The lenovo has a better processer (but uses a little more power), bigger hard drive and dedictated graphics card. It is also slightly cheaper.

The other simply has a touchscreen going for it which I would not want seeing as it's ex-display.;)

For me the choice is obvious.
