i5 with touch screen, that is awesome price!!!. Was looking for a laptop replacements for my daughters. Thanks Op, heat added

Can anyone in the class see why the apostrophe still has meaning in today's communications?

This looks like a lot of laptop for the price. Definitely hot

I WOULDN'T TOUCH A LAPTOP WITH NVEIDA GRAPHICS WITH A VERY VERY VERY LONG BARGE POLE.

What makes you sat that phox? Have you had bad experience with systems using Nvidia graphics? Would be genuinely interested to know cause still looking for a laptop and some of those I am considering have Nvidia dedicated cards

can anyone please tell me what does it mean by non-standard battery??
i am asking because new laptops come with standard battery but specs says that non-standard battery is included.

in my opinion nvidia are the way to go when compared to AMD updates to drivers are faster and do better in games for the right price range if you can find it for the right price.
Nvidia did have a problem a few years ago where all the laptops with a certain chip overheated (this was included in the macbook pro) and nvidia had to do free repairs. if i had the choice i would choose nvidia due to the performance benefits and regular updates

Shame about the colour... don't really want a Laptop in "Dark Chocolate" ... but then again that is probably the reason why this is so cheap.

Although i do agree that yes i would rather have Nvidia in my laptop, it wouldnt be for the same reasons. Amd drivers these days are good, their pound to performance smashes nvidia, and their chips outperform nvidia more often than not.

I have both a laptop with AMD and one with Nvidia and the AMD chip while gaming is just too hot, and for that reason i dont tend to use the AMD. Gaming + laptop = Heat sensetive.

Only problem is its so damn ugly, looks like it was built ten years ago.

Nvidia currently have the flagship card, highest market share - and best drivers

Its a very good laptop for the price, as your asking the question ill assume your not too bothered about *this pwns that and mine as 8.4million more transistors than yours* in that case this will do well day to day and the touchscreen gives it a bit of compusex appeal.

Lenovo themselves are a cracking company.

My partner has one of these, they are horrible to use, keep zooming in using the touchpad when you don't want to etc... I guess you can turn these features off, but it's not as user friendly as my samsung.

Excellent deal...tempted...

NVIDIA > AMD

Seems like an excellent deal! I might bite the bullet on this one!

I guess you're basing that on past experience with Geforce 8400M and other ones in that series. That's history now, modern Nvidia graphics in laptops are perfectly fine. I say that with confidence as I work for a laptop refurbishing company.

THANKS, PUTTING IT IN CAPS MAKES THE POINT SO MUCH MORE VALID

I have a large barge pole and I've touched a laptop with Nveida graphics.

yeah! i would not overpay 120£ for touch screen (I would not use it,standart used in everyday tasks), better graphic card and 2GB RAM difference! 8)) good deal!

Deal of the **** century here.

I really want one but I don't have any need for it, as I put together a gaming computer at christmas. First word problems.

My GF 8400M is still going strong. Laptop with it is now like 6 years old, had to replace camera and wifi antenna cables twice already as they been torn after a million lid open/close cycles. Of course Im trying to keep all fans and air ducts clean and I think this is the key for long laptop life.
On the other hand Ive had a lot of laptops with faulty graphics, they all are quite easy to fix if you know how to do it.

i3 version for £380 doesn't seem too bad if you don't need the dedicated graphics and the i5 and want an extra £80 in your pocket. Same RAM and HDD etc, not bad price for a touchscreen laptop.

Obviously the i5 with nvidia much better for gaming!

Further to that, I had a £930 Sony Vaio laptop with a defective graphics card, though Nvidia didn't own up for my particular model despite a huge online petition. Currys ended up giving me a credit note for £450. Currently got an Nvidia in my Samsung laptop which i've had no problems with. Well, so far.

LOL...
NVEIDA?

Lol at all the graphics fan boys, Nvidia and AMD are very evenly mached at the moment and they have closely competing cards at most price points. Just get the most powerful one you can get within your budget as neither realy has an advantage ATM

goldiminator

LOL...NVEIDA?

That's what I thought plox was poking fun at, the NVEIDA typo!

£618 now?

Yes, I missed it too. Would have been a good upgrade from my asus i5 with 540m Gpu.
I don't game very often but the last laptop I had that had heat problems was a dell xps with 6800 ultra that sold for way over £2000 and that blew multiple times. Luckily I had three year cover and had the mb replaced just before the warranty ran out. It did die again six months or so later which put me off dell for a while. I did recently relent and buy a dell tablet that was advertised here but after 3 or so attempts at repair I still don't have a working machine.

Bargain, you can play far cry 3 and battlefield 3 on it. Not maxed out, but somewhere at low-med settings with smooth gameplay

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/lenovo-z500t-15-6-touchscreen-laptop-dark-chocolate-21305130-pdt.html No Gpu so it should be cheaper. If it was £100 or so cheaper than this one it would compare well but not 59 after cash back that you have to wait for and isn't a sure thing.Rather this one with the £100 cash back. First thing I do on ANY laptop is turn off all the rubbish 'extras' they put into the touch pad mouse. I just want
Move, Tap to click, double tap to hold click. nothing else. ANYTHING else just drives me mad, and I watch soo many people struggle with all the extra 'features' they put in, pinch to zoom, wtf, scroll if you use the right hand side, really? just not needed and too complicated.

Two finger scroll is awesome, if that's not available then I do like right hand side scroll. But yeah remembering all the weird gestures and not performing them by accident is a pain in the ****.
