Seems like a good deal to me. £250 off. Only dual core processor but for the price i think its hard to beat. Full HD screen too!
Only white version is on offer, black is still full price

Is this a good price for the spec? It's about exactly what I want to be honest in terms of spec.

Camelcamelcamel says lowest price ever
I am waiting to see ppl commenting on the bloatware
Cracking price.
I'm very very tempted. Would like more comments but worries it's going to sell out.
Is this the same one in black? I'm on phone so hard to compare all the specs..

It will be full of bloatware, the amount of junk I had to clean off my Lenovo laptop was disgusting.
Drastically affects boot speeds and wastes performance.

Amazon deal has a better graphics card

Ive just noticed the Amazon deal has double the Ram too
I've ordered but may cancel.

Cons I've read are the battery life and viewing angles.

Would like other feedback too.

At 16gb ram I don't see why not.
With the graphics card of 4Gb and i7 processor, I would have thought this could handle the high end games no problem.
Dunno why Intel put the i7 branding on these 5500u. They are only dual core with +2 logical and perform the same as my i5 3320m laptop (according to benchmarks).

Isn't it more dependent on the "R9 4GB" graphics?

Bought Lenovo in Aug 2015... zero bloatware, boots like a dream.

They stopped loading the Superfish software in Jan 2015:

Flubit came back with £539, only 2% savings. I'd rather pay the extra £12 and deal with Amazon directly.
this is great price.. heat!!
Graphics card is slightly below a 940M in power. That's.... not THAT amazing to be honest.
There's still a good number of dell inspiron 15-7559's around if you hunt a bit (some open box ones on ebay for example).

Those are a full (mobile) i7, 8GB ram and 960M 4GB graphics. Can be had for £650. It's obviously a bit more expensive but it's a vastly better spec for the price.

See here (note, it's the last one):
ebay.co.uk/itm…071?hash=item2812c898e7:g:oXMAAOSwe7BWzB~f

There's a few on saveonlaptops too but getting closer to £700/£750 price range.

Final edit:

here's the i5 version, 6300HQ with otherwise the same spec: laptopsdirect.co.uk/del…asp

Still a better deal (imho).

Lol screen scratched, box damaged, previously used, Nvidia fail drivers, £100 more expensive. You must be a TROLL!

A clean install with Windows 10 should not be too difficult (may need to download some drivers from Lenovo). If you are looking for a backlit keyboard (essential on a games machine, in my opinion), this model doesn't have one.

No it cannot. Despite the alluring R9 branding and generous VRAM it is still a very weak GPU.

Admittedly I'm a novice at this - I was waiting for the more experienced people to comment. Is it the GPU that would prevent this from handling newer games?
TBH the graphics card is next to useless. It's about 50% 'faster' than skylake's 530.

Yes, it'll play games. Just with most things switched off and at lower framerates.

This is NOT a gaming laptop.

What evidence do you have that the GPU isn't as good as the NVIDIA GeForce 940M?
Looks like this can be purchased on 0 per cent finance too
What's the warranty of this? Thanks
And, does this have a gloss or Matt screen? Thanks

Appears to be matte based on Techradar's review
OK - was reading through the comments on similar deals within the past few months and looks like I'm going to cancel. I wanted this for graphic design and some casual gaming but it looks like it can't even handle that.
I'm pretty confident itll handle casual gaming. No its not a "gaming laptop", but it will play most games.

Here's a review of a similar spec which gives a realistic idea of what it can play:

Lots of comments of "useless" and such which is a load of beans.

Those benchmarks are a farce, dropping the resolution to 1366x768 is halving the number of pixels being rendered.
Yes games will run on low settings/resolutions but I don't think people should set their expectations particularly high. I fear many will due to the high VRAM and deceptive card name.
I've spent hours reading reviews, previous threads for this model and it seems to confirm what you both said above.

All things considered, and given it's not a full blown gaming laptop is it good value for the price? Meaning am I able to buy a similar spec's laptop for the same price?
It has a VGA and a HDMI port, will I be able to run two monitors from this?
