Seems an amazing spec laptop for the price? Need to buy a laptop for Adobe photoshop editing, and feel this would be perfect? Any thoughts welcome...

Why cold? I'm interested too, thanks
not a bad deal, r9 375m (GDDR3) graphics card if anyone is wondering, comparable in performance to a 940m ish.

would prefer a full SSD as although SSHDs are faster than HDD, still nowhere near an SSD. cheap deals at the moment though for 240gb ones.

Do you think this one is better?
store.hp.com/UKS…NTB

It hasn't the SSHD but it has 12GB DDR3 RAM and 2TB and better process (I think...sorry for my lack of knowledge)

what's your main use?

not worth the extra really, processor is 3-5% faster but you wont notice that in real world use. GPU (940m) would be slightly faster and more power efficient for gaming but again, you probably wouldnt notice unless side by side.

cant imagine anyone but absolute power users using 12GB RAM, the HDD would become a bottleneck long before then. storage and ram is cheap to upgrade

I would like to play some recent games (can I?), but the main purpose would be browsing the internet (lots and lots and lots of tabs :D).
many thanks for your help!
It is so difficult to commit to buying a laptop. There are so many pros and cons to each one... I think this has a good spec, which will mean it will run speedily for the uses we have (photoshop and illustrator, with browsing etc) But then people always find something that is a problem, which makes me think the deal is not so good after all...!

I agreed! It's two months that I'm looking for a good laptop and now I'm still very confused
But now I'm quite sure about this one...for now...:D

I found this one about the two different graphic cards

hwcompare.com/277…75/

I hope I do well
I originally considered this when it was £799.99. Interested more at this price. Reviews online are middling but for lower specs. Also pretty sure there is £100 cashbook from Lenovo on this.
Yes, there is £100 cashback apparently.

Oh I see, many thanks!
Need to be careful with the cashback. Pretty sure you can only claim after 29 days have passed. Do it too early and they refuse it (you can reapply later though). Seen a lot of people think they've been scammed because they didn't read the details.

don't buy lenovo … don't buy lenovo http://thehackernews.com/2015/09/lenovo-laptop-virus.html?m=1

Can understand disliking Lenovo for doing so but article doesn't state that it affects this laptop. If i read it correctly.
Brilliant tip, thanks. Just ordered. Forgot to use the £10 "MUSICTEC10" code, doh!

Still happy with this though, especially with the Lenovo £100 cashback after 21 days.

Will do, won't be allowed to play with it until Xmas day though! :-)
I'm still here...the code MUSICTEC10 doesn't work, I asked to customer client
good luck claiming the cashback !
lenovo-offers-pc-cashback.com doesn't exist and the domain hasn't been registered
shame would have been a good deal at £479 (I think)

This one, or a similar model but with a 6th gen i7, but only 12GB RAM for £80 more? currys.co.uk/gbu…tml
For cash back isn't the price out of range ??
8. Purchases bought directly from Lenovo distributors, from auction websites (e.g. eBay) or marketplace sales through retail websites (e.g. Amazon Marketplace or PlayTrade) are specifically excluded from this promotion.

I think there will be no cashback on this one

I really don't know anymore ... in Johnlewis johnlewis.com/len…ite the laptop is £599.95 and there is Claim £100 Cashback too... maybe I will order from there..to be sure..
For cash back isn't the price out of range ??
Linxus, the laptop on John Lewis is £20 more with an inferior graphics card and only 8gb RAM compared with 16gb on Amazon.

I think you should get cashback, as it is buying direct from Amazon, not from Amazon marketplace?
As far as I can tell amazon is supported (point 5 in the terms and conditions linked below)

lenovo-offers.com/uk/…rms

I'll still trying to establish whether it's the retail or sale price that determines whether the product qualifies. I'm emailed lenovo and will post the reply here.
Sold out now. Amazon did confirm the £100 cash back though,

Glad I held off on this one. Lenovo have just confirmed via email that this wouldn't have been eligible for the cashback offer, which makes it a fair-to-middling deal rather than a good one, IMO.
