Been looking for a decent spec mobile for under £200. This appears to have good specification from a decent company. Any other suggestions are welcome as my mobile needs replaced!

S75 applies to any credit purchase with an undisputable debtor-creditor-supplier arrangement regardless of merchant location or product (minimum single item of value £100+ and UK-based credit provider). Not clear if Banggood uses a payment intermediary that could break the debtor-creditor-supplier arrangement; EglobalCentral for example accept CC payments directly and EglobalCentral is quoted on credit card statement with no mention of intermediary so all OK. Banggood credit card processing methodology eligibility for S75 requirements is yet to be determined.

You really would spend the best part of £200 on a phone from China with no EU warranty and no economic way of returning if it goes wrong? oO . All I can say is "Good Luck " - you will need it

Have ordered many times from China with no issues. Most people are aware of the risks which is why I prefer a brand that has proven itself in the market I am buying from. Not a new brand, but a company with a bit history.

Fair enough , if you are prepared to write off £200 if it arrives duff or goes wrong in the next 2-3 years . At least you know the risks .

Calm down dad!

A guy at work bought one of these and I helped him set it up....

It's really quick... but.. It had the bootloader unlocked so it had an alert when switching it on and the software was all designed for China, so it kept asking if I wanted to buy a roaming package for the UK. a bit of irrelevant crapware as well...

That said, great price!

I'm calm (as always ) unlike the many folks who post on here after their Chinese bought phone goes or arrives duff and they then realise they have no warranty and it costs them (not Bangood! ) £60 + to return it Enjoy your school hols

Can't it be sent to the UK Lenovo/Motorola repair centre if something goes wrong?

Meh, for this price I'd wait for another similar offer on the G5 Plus (£189.99 after £10 cashback) unless you REALLY need the extra CPU grunt.

Not convinced Banggood offer direct payment so unlikely S75 protection would apply. May be worth checking though.

I got one of these a couple of months ago amazing phone have had no issues with it. The only thing with it the android system which comes on it is awful so I flashed mine it was easy enough to do I've never done it before and there was a step by step guide on how to do it.

Also no NFC - which is a shame alongside its great 'main' specs.. wouldn't add much to production costs to add it, so strange that most of these China phones exclude them...

Under restocking and can't currently order unfortunately.

Edit: Can order now but voucher has reached usage limit

Ok so what do you recommend instead? At what price?

The way I see it, to get comparable specs you'd have to spend easily £400. In a year time your phone would have lost close to the entire value of this phone. So really if this last 2-3 years, you'd be quids in. You can just spend the £200 you saved on the newer faster fancier model rather than having to keep your slowing and scratched £400 phone for another 2 years... if you are lucky since by then it's old, worn and has no warranty.

Hmmm: gsmarena.com/com…995
Not sure how Oneplus 3 "has a lot better specs"?

I sort of get the cynicism in this thread regarding no effective warranty etc but I've been buying mobiles for as long as I care to remember and have NEVER had one that experienced any sort of malfunction during its time with me. I guess it boils down to how much you think a warranty is worth in monetary terms because, let's be honest, you couldn't get anywhere near this spec from a UK-sourced mainstream manufacturer for less than 350 quid.

PS I have the (lesser) ZUK Z2 which I got for 130 quid and it's a stunner!

A little bit of a silly recommendation given the poster was bemoaning the lack of warranty....

Be careful with Banggood as they are selling Moto Z Plays and they have had the boot load unlocked. Does that cause updating problems?

I've done 3 digitisers -all due to speaker failures- in my BB Z10 in 3 1/2 years, fortunately parts are cheap and plentiful. A very lightly used (emergency second phone) Moto G the speakers failed in 18 months. Perhaps I have been unlucky. I like to get at least 3 years out of a phone. Hoping for better things out of my Moto Z Play.

I ordered one from China 3 months ago. Not disappointed for a bit. It's a beautiful and very powerful phone. It definitely competes with my other phones => the iphone 7 and Galaxy s7 edge.
And for the money, you just CANT get better....

I've bought a Motorola from carphone warehouse 18 months ago that is now broken and they are doing nothing to help.

I don't think it makes a difference when a warranty is only 12 months in slot of cases anyway.

I speak from my own experience, the handset came with a custom international ROM, which was missing the health app, for example. I did manage to install the stock ROM, but this is only in English and Chinese. It is a very good phone, once you have it configured.

Would the camera on this be superior to the Xiaomi Remid Note 4 and MI5s?

Oneplus 3 is equivalent. How much is a second hand oneplus 3 and how much warranty would you get on a second hand oneplus 3?

A new Oneplus 3T has a bit better specs and is £400 if you want full U.K. support directly from Oneplus.

You can get a new Oneplus 3 from sellers like eglobal for ~£300 but then you end up with some grey import and likely not a lot better support for £100 more.
