I was in HMV (Argyle St, Glasgow) looking for cheap Beatles remasters and found this. They had lots of them and the 5 albums are...

Songs of Leonard Cohen (1968)
Various Positions (1985)
I'm Your Man (1988)
The Future (1992)
Ten New Songs (2001)

I think this guy is a bit like marmite.
You either love him or hate him.
I personally love his music.

It's well documented that his voice is getting deeper with age, if he live to 100, his voice is gonna go sub-sonic!

saw him in glasgow a couple of years ago,he was amazing, made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up

You'll do for me. I hope I remember this at weekend.

Just had a dream of him . I was looking at carol Jackson from eastenders and she found this small square piece of paper with a L on it and she asked me who it was , but I didn't know, so she called him up and it was Leonard cohen. And she was all
blushing and feeling like a little kid again but she tried not to let her new bf here cos he would get angry . So she turned Down this date from Leonard cohen. I only know him cos of the hallejulah song, why would I be dreaming about him?. I have odd dreams, sorry :-D

Rather than looking for Beatles remasters, try and look online for the Beatles FLACs that are floating around - they are all taken from original masters (so don't suffer as a result of the loudness war - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war) and are usually taken from cleaned up 180g vinyl mastered at half speed. Once you've listened to the white album in this format, you'll never be able to go back to CD - you realise you're just hearing about 50% of the recordings!

Nice dream, I think it's a sign!

superb deal, thanks

Saw him last time he did Glastonbury, 08 I think and I'm a believer. Picked this up from Derby East Street Branch. Last one on the display (Under C for Cohen, didnt see it in any promo sections) they maybe only have one on display at a time...for £2 per album this is fantastic.

The Future is a brilliant song, from the end of Natural Born Killers... but other than that I find his work difficult to listen to. He's just not a happy chappy is he?

Doubt you'll catch him really really wanting to ziggazigg ahh but introspection, reflection & the complexities of love often get confused with unhappiness...

Nice use of the word 'introspection'. I used 'introspective' the other day to describe William Shatner's album 'Has Been'.

I agree about Cohen's music only 'seeming' to be about unhappiness, it's not. Although, I think there's a certain incongruity between his lyrics and music: his lyrics are usually beautifully poetic whereas his music can sometimes sound/ feel quite dull and bereft of any enthusiasm whatsoever. Nevertheless, it works and I salute the Lord of Love!

Gimme back the Berlin Wall, gimme Stalin and Saint Paul, I've seen the future brother, it is murder!
