Yeah thanks mate, I am very happy with it as orange and blue are my two colours so was buzzing to finally get my hands on it as I'd been waiting on it since before lockdown. Our home insurance is not up till next year so perhaps it will be prudent of me to look in to seeing what I can get covered by shopping about a bit. Edit: I just checked all the figures, it was actually 243 quid odd with insurance tax with so no idea where I got that 226 figure from (confused)

howbord

I have actually just gone through confused.com and managed to get the same policy for £141.00 (and got their £20 reward voucher) so happy days. Also noticed i have legal cover included which was £24 extra. Nice watch, unfortunately having been on furlough since this all started i cant see me adding to mine atm although i have booked to go to Turkey next year so may pick a (cough) genuine one there

Ah mate thanks for getting back to me and xuxk a duck that it is actually remarkable timing as my valuables insurance from Ripe was up for renewal a couple of days ago, the very same day I picked this beauty up.... ......so I had to call them not just to take my 007 Commander Diver off my policy seeing I sold it to help fund this new Planet Ocean but I also had to up the value of my two-tone Sedna gold/steel Diver because its RRP went up this week So anyway for both the watches, valued at £8760 and £5560 respectively, and my platinum wedding band valued at £1100 it's cost me £226.50 to insure the lot with £250 excess.

howbord

Just had my renewal quote and unfortunately they dont give me a breakdown of the costs so i dont know exactly what the watch is costing me but if i tell you the total for a £250,000 house, contents and £5600 cover for the watch is £150 you get some idea

Glad to be of service!

Nobody asks but watch enthusiasts notice (y)

Flee_wood

Good point XD Nobody would notice because its just a watch and no normal person walks up to someone and asks what watch they own.

deleted1105004

Who wears the same watch as their butler. Pffft. (lol)

Cold - no bell. (lol) have some heat.

I promised myself not to do any more watch ones but this APPEARS to be a fabulous price for this model. They have a few other good deals too...
ezzer72

Or Rolex even? :D That's actually not necessarily true anyway. As I may have said in this thread, I have owned a couple of Subs in the past, and they honestly aren't all that. If we're honest, they're not especially good looking, and 40mm is a bit on the small side these days (though Rolex made them appear a bit bigger with the not overly well proportioned super case upgrade). Omega use much more advanced movements, and whilst I admit they go a bit too far with the variety of models, at least they give buyers some options. The only real benefit to a Rolex is resale value, but if you are having to pay double the list price to get hold of one, I'm not sure there is much profit opportunity left. It actually bugs me the way supply is restricted to artificially inflate values, it's all marketing BS, and I won't buy one on principle nowadays.

MisterSkinflint

Omega buyers aspire to omega.

ezzer72

So Omega buyers are savvy, and Rolex buyers are gullible. Thanks for clearing that up (y)

ezzer72

Not strictly true - it can be done if they are bought with a decent deal/discount initially, I'm pretty sure all of mine could be sold with at least a small profit - a larger one on a couple of them.

4ndy8

I'm a big fan of Omega. If you are looking for a bigger, chunkier watch check out the Planet Ocean 8900. I've had mine about 2 years now.
