See a few people using these with chromcasts and this has just dropped down in price as I was watching it for a while.. Was 23.99 for this colour.. I know the 2020 version is selling for this price still

Bought a second one, thanks for the heads up.
As long as it helps someone.. Thank you for the reply
I bought it for 8P from banggood before
Using this right now with a Chromecast
got it for £8 of ebay
While we're on the subject can anyone recommend a good pair of speakers to go with it. Ceiling or bookshelf
I'm doing the same thing with ceiling speakers.. Have a couple of Pyle ceiling ones. So I'll see how it goes...
I've had this driving ceiling speakers for a few years now, works a treat

I like Mission 700's but TBH it's all I know.
nice idea
Excellent timing! I was just looking to replace a big old Sony STR-242L with something that fits on the desk a bit better
I've got the 2020, not sure of the difference between the two, however, the 2020 is very good.
I have a Pha-2 Sony and want to sell at 200 pounds.
thanks

I have 3 Chromecasts, 2 of them are connected to these amps, one is running connected to this ceiling speaker and one is connected to a pair of Diamond Wharfedale 9.0's (although the Diamond Wharfedale's seem to frequently be on offer as low as £40, so you might want to wait a bit if interested - do a search on here, they are usually posted).

The ceiling speaker has two channel connections, which it merges (so taking a stereo source and merging it, replacing two speakers with a one). Depending on your usage a pair of ceiling speakers may suit better, I think the same company do a pair for not much more.

Both sound really good for the price in my opinion, the ceiling speaker is in a bathroom and the bookshelf's are in the kitchen.

Daimond 9's from Richer sounds ~ £40

Fantastic speakers for the money
What are these used for with chromecasts?
I've got two of these screwed into the back of a pair of beat up old sony speakers, both attached to chromecasts. One speaker does left channel, the other right. Create a group in the chromecast app - insta-wireless stereo pair!
I don't understand why did you need 2? I have several and 1 has always driven 2 speakers a left and right.

Just avoids having any wires running between the two, I guess.
love hearing what people have done with these

I temporarily had one set up outputting to two old bookshelf speakers, with the input being the cheapest Raspberry Pi running Logitech Media Server, you could develop a nice cheap multiroom system using that ! when my daughter gets a bit older I think that's how I'll kit her room out.
1st post I've ever seen on here for a Tripath Amp :-)
Truly a great choice for those who want a super little Amp for peanuts, that'll outclass big name Amps costing £100's.
I have two.
One of my reasons for wanting 3 of them with 3 chromcasts is for multiroom sound
Got one for use with bookshelf speakers (£25 from Richer Sounds) and Chromecast (£15). A winning combination.
Results > Sonos (which I also have).
Heated.
I already had 4 of these amps 3 bedrooms and kitchen with Chromecast audios, so i ordered another for garden hot tub area as been using a bluetooth speaker but keep forgetting that and gets left out in the rain.

So this in shed and will source waterproof speakers.

They work great and are an excellent buy (my friend also brought one) so should have got in bulk lol.

As for Chromecast Audios the multiroom i love as guess shows.
This is sold by an Amazon Marketplace seller 'Treasure Nova' and FBA
Not Amazon direct.

Great price, heat added
Is the PSU decent with these?

I'll be sticking four in my comms cupboard from where the Home Audio/Video is distributed. Ideally will find a way to switch them off when not used, but if not want to be confident the PSU's won't catch fire

Also how loud are people finding these in practice (8ohm ceiling speakers, rooms are each around 20-25 m2 and 2.5m high)
I'll be able to tell you tomorrow. Although I have a few psu spare from when I was working with led lighting for under cupboards which are 12v 5amp so might try them just for the better amperage
Does nobody else have terrible issues with Chromecast audio? I'm experiencing serious and continual drop-outs!

Can these be used with headphones?
Will this drive a pair of Wharfedale 9.1 speakers?
Can this be used to connect AV Receiver(which has RCA Sub woofer output(active)) to input to this av receiver (lepy 2024a+) then the output from this lepy to passive Sub woofer?

Although I got mine from eBay, if it's the same supply it's 12V 3A (which will in theory result in about 15W per channel RMS, at least into 4 ohms), Lepy branded (as opposed to completely no-name), and marked as efficiency class V. It doesn't get hot on standby and I have confidence in it.

Well that depends on a lot of things, such as how loud is loud, and how efficient are your speakers. A 3dB difference in efficiency is equivalent to halving/doubling the power of the amplifier.

You need to get with the times! I'm all about the 701s

So the first receiver is outputting at line-level to a subwoofer which it assumes is active? Then yes, you're just splitting out the amplifier for the sub from the sub itself, or rather turning a passive sub active
Does anyone know what the current draw of this amplifier is when in use? Wondering if one could happily sit on a battery in the shed.

Nothing if switched off.
Just got it in post. hooked up to ceiling speakers and chromcast audio. And I must say I am happy enough.. It's loud and very ample for my needs.. question above about psu if it was good enough It looks fine from what I see... Now to start the chainsaw for cutting the circles in the ceiling
