This is an amazing little amplifier for the price. I have one in the bedroom with some of the Wharfedale Diamond 9.0s (that are on here for 39.99 from richer sounds) paired with an audio Chromecast.

I had to get mine off eBay from China to get it at this price, but when looking to get a similar setup for my daughters birthday found this.

This is plenty loud enough for a bedroom and sounds fantastic. For my daughters room I've bought the tibo edge mini speakers (20.00. from Richer Sounds) making the speaker, amp Chromecast combo even cheaper ( £57 in total).

For this from amazon for this price 6 months ago. Great little amp. Only issue for me. Is the freaking blue light round the volume. I wish I could turn that off.

I have one of these running off a car battery in the garage since it is 12v you can get much cheaper on eBay albeit not lepai branded, mine was a fiver. got a gemtune sa-55 for 40 which I know is 2x the price but is 4x the power and is genuine hi-fi quality kit, would highly recommend people down that path instead

Do you have a link to the ones for £5 as I'm thinking of getting sand setup for the kitchen.

For non prime members, if you are getting this with some new speakers just get this speaker cable to get free delivery.

These are decent little amps they do get distorted at higher volumes but keep them low and you get excellent sound. Chrome cast audio, one of these and a pair of bookshelf speakers and you've got yourself a excellent little wireless system, which will far out perform any all in one package for the same price.

hi....better check on ebay samething is cheaper there.....

With the Audio Chromecast in an average size bedroom I never go above 50% volume and that's quite loud and distortion free. Just don't make the mistake I did by having my Chromecast attached by phono and the TV in the aux at the same time. Even with the TV off the music sounded awful until I removed the aux cable; then it sounded amazing! Just connect to either the phono or the aux not both.

It sounds better than the aptx Bluetooth receiver it replaced. it can handle 192khz/24 bit FLAC files too. It's going to be great when multi room is introduced. Bargain for £30

Thanks for the reply! That's what I'm waiting for! Flac support is an unexpected bonus!

bought.. will reply back...

I’ve got one of these. It’s quite good, in that it amplifies. I’m not a fan of the volume knob only rotating through the first 20° or so, Also, that odd occasional background ‘scraping’ sound from the right channel is a feature that should be dropped from future versions, as is the random muting of that right channel.

Now that is interesting, wot power is the sa55 unit? Gemtune look to be more in line with the quality of spks I intend to use - no point mismatching.

it is 40w rms needless to say the volume far exceeds my ear tolerance. compared side by side to my dad's denon dm38, it wasn't embarrassed by any stretch coming down to preference rather than missing any musical detail

Thanks! Are you sure this has a tripath chip in it like the lepy?

can't confirm that, had a leppy before and this sounds very similar and of similar power

inspired by teksyndicate

Did lepai become lepy then?

If its the same as my lepai, and it looks identical, they're fairly decent little amps. About the same price I paid some years back, so a decent deal.

I do love tripath amps.

You can use a chromecast and an adapter, or the new chromecast audio to replicate Sonos on a budget with these. I've got 3 of them. Google "budget Sonos alternative" a made a how to video on youtube

Hot from me. I used to have a tripath for my PC audio. Great bit of kit.

Neat. Heated.

fiver seriously

link please

Does it come with a power cable?

Could this be used to convert a passive subwoofer to active for my surround sound amp?

Loving the creative audio solutions people have.

4 posts above. I've just ordered one for my pi touch screen media player project.

So with this, a chromecast audio, speakers, cable and power supply, I can stream music from my laptop and phone?

Is it possible to put the audio from my tv through it at the same time?
