Bought one of these last year and noticed in Costco Reading today too. Seems like a nice deal to me.

Have you added the vat to this price ?
just remember that these are not the same as the ones you normally get here. Different grade of denim (it's a poorer finish and durability) and the sizing I saw was American on them and not the ones I normally buy.

Quality is very good and on Levi's level. Sizing is UK one too.
Also interesting how did you compared / measure the "finish" and "durability"?

All very interesting points...

All completely rubbish of course, but interesting none the less. Why in any situation would Levis sell an inferior quality product anywhere apart from their own outlet...

A productive comment as ever on hotukdeals.

Some dont have the same quality as the ones imported from America...
Ones that I've bought from Amazon (Made in Bangladesh) are much thinner than the ones made in Egypt (Purchased from ASOS)

Hey there,

I was simply comparing them to the ones I was wearing. Also the sizing I saw was not in evens (UK sizing). For example, UK mens jeans are 30, 32, 34 etc and the same for leg. International sizing is 31, 33, etc etc.

Quality wise they just felt different to the one I was wearing - not sure I can describe it any better then that. When I was in the US some time ago, they were telling me at the Levis store that the European quality and grade of denim ('ounce' I think was the word they used) was much higher in Europe.

Something like that....you'll see what I mean when you see them - they're not like what you can get from the Levis store.
Dunno. I used to buy my 501s in the US back in the day. The only differences I noticed were the odd number sizes, the location of manufacture (Philippines, South America, Egypt for the US vs Belgium for Europe) plus a greater range of colours. Quality was pretty much indistinguishable.

Well the size I bought is 36 which is even number. It looks like what Americans were telling is not backed up with any fact and are subjective arguments. I do not believe they would be able to distinguish their denim just by touching from other ten denims with closed eyes.
501's... heat added, don't care for sizing or where it's made as the difference in quality is only marginal. The Levi brand guarantees quality, can only say that about a few brands.
heat!!
VAT??? More like £35

Not saying this deal is not hot but todays Levi's are not the same quality they were in the "shrink to fit" days. Same with Lacoste when they sell by their name the quality goes down the drain

The 5% surcharge is applied to Costco online deal whereas this is in-store deal. Hence you have to be a member or go there with a member to buy it.

I think you need to do your research. Look on Amazon for reviews on 501's. I was going to order myself some yesterday, but after reading the reviews, then inspecting the images - they're all factual. These jeans are NOTHING like they used to be.

I wish people would wake the **** up and use their brains before becoming keyboard warriors.

Or is it because they're 'hating' on 'your' brand of choice? Yes, Levi's were good. They WERE excellent. Quality has gone down the drain though.
