Can anyone comment on any Levi purchases from Amazon?

Yeah, I mentioned that in my post.
I've bought some just before xmas, different colour though but they appear to be fine.
It's definitely worrying when you see those reviews though.
You'll be lucky to find your size at £25.

Amazon’s becoming a real mess with letting fakes through, different sizes priced randomly and reviews not addressed, prefer to buy clothes anywhere else than there anymore

Tbf some of those reviewers don’t know what they’re talking about actually, Levi’s have switched to using the ‘Big E’ on their tabs again and a blank red tab is still genuine, just on one in every ten pairs
Reviews are shocking

I did read that somewhere so obviously people seeing this 'big E' change on the tab is confusing some.

found my size and I pulled the trigger. If I don't like them I will return them
These will say MADE IN CHINA on the inside label. They wont be the same quality as the ones that say MADE IN USA. There is a reason they are this price. I dont have an issue with this but this is the facts.

Hahahaha I know but I thought it best to point out the poor reviews before other people did.
I'm sure there's been worse opening lines
Should I check through the 6 deals you've posted in 13 years? 😁

...that's a very pertinent point Sam1970......because I had a Chinese takeaway the other day and now I don't believe the earth revolves around the sun ;-) Especially as China only has one timezone....
My experience so far when buying clothes directly from Amazon (including a pair of Levi's) is that they were always genuine. I suspect that reviews saying items are fake could come from those buying from other sellers. But of course that's just my experience.
BEWARE! I bought some levi's in the deal posted here last week and found they were fake.
You can tell because the red tag on the back pocket has an upper case 'E'.

Is there any other sign they are fake? Apparently Levi’s Officially changed the E

Where did you see that Levi's changed the E? It is still lower case in all the branding on their website.

As for other signs - the patch on the back also doesn't appear to be proper leather at all.

Why would one in every ten genuine pairs have a blank red tab? Sounds like BS to me...

I didn't say it, it was another member but I did hear there is some mention of it on the Levi website or Levi Facebook page.

Levi haven't made bulk style in the US in years, the majority is China or Mexico.

Huh fair enough!

Still sounds like the upper case 'E' on anything but a vintage pair is a sure sign of a fake though!

Their website is pretty clear:

Although the red Tab has remained affixed to Levi’s® since its creation, the Tab lettering took on different forms in very subtle ways, Panek says. In the 1950s, the brand started making double-sided tabs, where the white “LEVI’S” lettering was visible on both sides. In the early 1970s, instead of all-caps “LEVI’S,” it changed to a title-case “Levi’s” — with a lowercase “e.” The “E” font differentiation became a mark among collectors of a vintage piece. Though the Tab was and is a trademark, its evolution made it more of a timestamp (think rings on a redwood tree) for collectors and fans of the brand worldwide.

Unless it is a vintage pair, it should have a lower-case "e".

Thank you for contacting Levi.com

We would like to inform you that your product is authentic.

Also, please advised that Levi Strauss & Co. has registered various Tab trademarks, among them are: the tab Levi's written on capital letter, the Tab with Levi's® written on it and the Tab without the word Levi's® on it; this is what we call the "blank" Tab. This blank Tab was registered in order to protect the Tab against imitators who use a tab on their products, but put a different name on it, they then claim that because there is a different name on it, it is not an imitation of our Tab. Our blank Tab trademark protects the shape of the Tab itself - regardless of what is written on it.
In order to maintain a trademark, it has to be used. If you don't use a trademark for 5 years or more, someone else can file a "cancellation action" and have your trademark cancelled. The result is that it is no longer protected and everyone can use it. In conclusion, about 10% of all of our products have the blank Tab, the practice being to mix blank Tabs among our other Tabs.

Kind regards,

Karolina

That looks like a jacket to me rather than a pair of Original Fit 501 Jeans. Find me a photo of those on a reputable site with an uppercase E. All the ones on John Lewis and Levi.com are lower case.

Full Clarkson
I bought a pair for £34 a few weeks back. They seemed fine.

I bought a different pair for £40 last week. They look and feel completely different to the pair I bought from levi in America last year, which also feel different to the ones I bought levi in UK.

They generally last me a year before the knees go, the crutch goes and they cant be worn any more. I dont buy Levi's for the name or the quality but I like the buttons rather than zips and I find them comfortable..

The 2 pairs I have bought look and feel fine, so I'm happy I paid £74 for 2 pairs rather than £85 - £95 a pair. Only time will tell how long they last..
