I bought one of these a month or so ago and am really impressed with it so I thought I'd post as it works out a bit less than I'd paid.

Are the filters expensive on these?
Good point, some of the filters are crazy price
The price for 2 here:

How long do the filters last?

The machine works out how long the filter should last as it senses the pollution in the air and adjusts the speed.

I'm guessing at least 6 months for my house as we are constantly vaccuming with a HEPA filter vaccuum cleaner.

Also I vaccum out the filters as well every couple of weeks.

Apparently you can make one with a HEPA filter from eBay strapped to a normal fan.

Oh now we're talking!, but don't normal fans blow air out & these air purifiers take air in trapping the dust etc?. What 'normal' fan could i use?

Can't fans work both ways?

Not afaik. There's only the on/off switch & the levels of heat/cold.

Thanks, didn't know these compatibles existed. With current 20% voucher, works out at £16/filter as opposed to £29 for the Levoit version.

I did order and then cancelled once I noticed they were compatable ones but tempted to reorder and give them a go. 😁

Seems expensive, I posted this one 2 weeks ago, and it performs perfectly.
As long as it has a Hepa filter, then all is good.

There is a lot more to this one as it senses the dust etc in the air and adjusts the fan as needed (and it does actually work as it speeds up if somebody is cooking in the kitchen (at the other end of the hallway to the living room) or also when I was pulling out stuff from behind my computer desk the other day and disturbed some dust.

Also this is one of the larger throughput air purifiers that is suitable for large rooms (when it's on high you can really feel the air blowing out (thus sucking in)).

That one is nearly the same price anyway at around £100?

Also how easy are the filters to get hold of as there seem quite a few ones available for the Levoit Air Purifiers (I had the problem of having to throw a Von Haaus air purifier recently as I could not get hold of the filters after I purchased it less than 2 years ago).

That is where the famous time machine is needed, was only referring to that because it was so cheap, paid 19.99 for the unit, and 17.99 for another filter, there is deals out there to be had.
The filters are on amazon.

I did see that Amazon had the filters on there but only 1 listing and £25 for the filter.

I can't see it on Amazon for any listings, but I did quite a bit of research before buying the Levoit ones I have (this one and also a smaller one). I could have spent a lot more than this one on a Philips one so this is not overly expensive.

Think you must have just been very lucky to get this one for £20 as it looks quite good still.

Yes, think it was a mistake by amazon, as it was 300 euro in Spain Germany and Italy, unavailable now tho, glad I got one and a few members did too
