Seems a good price especially with Freesync support.
Only a 6 bit panel but at this price...

5ms GTG response. 1ms Virtual.
In case anyone actually thinks this is a real 1ms response IPS panel. It would be bargain of the century.

Any good deal on 27" gaming monitors? 1080p preferably IPS or a fast VA. Already got a TN and hate the colours

How easy would it be for me to use this as a 'second screen'? I've been looking at the compact, USB powered screens to use with my laptop. I am however, largely desk-based and working at home as opposed to on a mobile basis. Could this sit on my desk and be connected to my laptop by USB and operate as a second screen side by side with my laptop?

Is that good or bad? The 5ms GTG response, that is.

Should I go with (for gaming) this monitor or this: amazon.co.uk/AOC…R4M
for thirty pounds more from amazon. Is the £30 saving and IPS screen worth the slower response time, and any other disadvantage I've missed?

Depends what you're after. IPS Panels have better colours and for me, I can't really see much of a difference between 5ms and 1ms response time, and I have a 1ms VP247h gaming monitor (similar to the AOC one you posted). I'd personally go for the LG, unless you're a hardcore gamer and prefer 1ms response.

For a 24" FHD IPS gaming monitor it's a good deal and I'd buy it if I needed a new monitor .

Does anyone have any stats for input lag for this monitor?

Will Amazon price match this?

Does Amazon price - match?

Anyone know what's a good step up from this for colour sensitive work? Thanks, cause this is 6 bit as well. Other improved specs would be nice.

You'd connect this up to your laptop using a VGA cable (blue with two thumb screws either side) or a HDMI cable, depending on what port your laptop has. Most laptops have one or the other.

Once it's plugged in it should be automatically picked up by the laptop, pressing the windows key (near space bar) & the 'P' key at the same time should let you toggle between mirrored (identical image on both screens) or extend which is the side by side mode you're after with one desktop expanding across two screens.
