LG 27" 27UD59P IPS 4K UHD HDMI Display Port Freesync Monitor - £289.97 @ Laptops Direct

Pretty good price for a UHD monitor with an IPS panel from a reputable brand.

Only does Freesync over display port so if you want it for an Xbox One X you may want to look elsewhere. It also has reasonable speakers if you need them.

Free delivery if you are willing to wait until April. Otherwise add £4.95 delivery.

Is a TN monitor with 1080p resolution a good deal?! Why not post it properly and let the people speak. I don't believe it is.

Sure, if you're using your Pro at a desk. You wont get any HDR benefit, but you'll definitely enjoy the resolution boosts from the Pro.

You won't find a single TV for this price that can do HDR properly either though.
Is this better than 2x 24" 1080p monitors for a developer? I'm just wondering whether it's big enough to use the full resolution for development?

You would have to be very close to the 4K monitor to use without using scaling options. As soon as you scale, you'll lose "space" on your desktop. You'd be better of with 2x 24" 1080p monitors, development (apart from some graphics) would be better, and cheaper on that setup. I've found that one in portrait is very handy.
Thanks, I wasn't sure whether I'd be able to use the extra vertical resolution natively on a screen that small.

I have the 27UD59P. I'm a developer. As a person with good eyesight, I am able to take advantage of all the screen real estate at 100% zoom - yes its small but you can definitely see everything, when you're sat relatively normally close to it. I like that I can tile 4 windows/applications and each application has almost the view of a single 1080p screen. I usually have one browser, one IDE, one chat/email and one database app open. With the context of the limited space on the desk/in the room I have it in, its the best use of space I can envisage.
