Got one last night reserved around 6:30pm and collected it after dinner ,

I was looking at the P7 Prime on Amazon but price dropped on this LG, it was £449 when I checked yesterday morning.

Really wanted this one last autumn when I was upgrading my rig but no stock then. Went with MSI, MAG271CQR... Could get this for £367 with discounted Currys vouchers from work.

Same here. I was finally going to push the buy button on the pixio but just checked this last night so decided to buy this instead. Reserved for collection today but none of the Currys nearby seemed to have stock or even delivery option to one of them.

All reviews and comments rate this over P7 but I don't want to pay £70 more until I see the price dropped.

Now out of stock near my home and work, was still available to reserve after I collected it last night. Look like stock clearance from Currys.

I saw the £449 price but it said that was for in store purchases. Given that LG batches seem small I don't expect Currys to have much stock for long. Hopefully Amazon have got some more units on the way.

Have you fired up yours yet ? Hows the picture quality and any noticeable glow etc ?

Virus might affect stock level. Both China and Korea are badly hit by the virus at the moment.

I haven't set it up yet but will do it this weekend. Hopefully will be better than my current dell s2417dg
Cracking deal. Lowest I’ve seen it so far.

Will do it tomorrow or weekend. Also need to look for the key for desk mount, haven't seen it after setting up the current monitor 3 years ago
Looks like this is almost completely out of stock already

Had one since November time or so. Top monitor for gaming, good enough for photo work as well.
I'm torn because I have a decent ultrawide - LG 34UC98. It has been fine for work and is OK for games, but I think I want to move on to a higher refresh rate monitor. Can't afford a good high refresh ultrawide though, so might have to settle for a 16:9 screen.

Lucky I don't need to think that much because my desk isn't big enough for 32"+

So if I get this for £318 (via some work offer/discount) it’s a bargain, right?

Well it really depends if you want it. If you get it but have no use for it, then it's not really a bargain is it?

If you do want it, and get it for that price when others have to settle for £399, then you should be able to answer your question for yourself.

If you just wanted to inform others here in a roundabout way of the discount you can get but they cannot, then that's a bit less than 'upstanding behaviour'. More than happy when others can avail of extra discounts, but there are nicer ways of communicating it.

I don't know how you intended it, but I am pretty sure your comment will fit one of these three scenarios - so take your pick!
Wanna get one for me at that rate as well?
Picked up mine today. Thanks OP!

Just got mine as well. Was a faff and a half driving to Currys a few miles away so hope there are no anamolies.
Excellent, when you've had a chance to try it out please consider taking a bit of time to update the thread with your impressions everyone! I'm keen to know what people think of this monitor.

Yeah sure mate. I mean, it's everything you'll hear on a short jaunt down YouTube lane. Great monitor at a great price-point, further bettered by this fire deal.

Have traded in a 4k 60fps for this one and immediately took the protective film off the edges 'cos I knew this was one a keeper.
just set it up and look great after only few adjustment.

Yeah, I just worry that half or more of the Youtube reviewers start out with a comment like "I was sent this for free to review, but I won' t be biased"

I like to hear from 'real people' on here too. Get as many perspectives as possible

Available to collect again at Staples Corner store.
Anyone who got one of these found that they were ex-display rather than new? I have had that experience before at Currys

The box seems to be pristine and sealed, I haven't opened it yet. Are there any signs to tell if its ex display. Presuming given that these were under exclusivity clause that Currys couldn't display them either.

Previously it has been where I think I can see some tape over other tape. Still clear but looked a bit odd and not as neat as you exoect from mass production. Asked the Currys employee and he said "no, it's taped so must be new and not a return". So I asked if we can open it in-store and he kind of rolls his eyes but agrees. What do you know, when we get to the item (it was glossy black) we can see some fingerprints where he has not touched it and some of the accessories are not in their correct position in the spaces on the styrofoam padding. All he sheepishly says is, "well it was sealed, it should be brand new".

But yes, I forgot about the exclusivity thing in this case, so like you say very unlikely they would have had them on display. And who would return a monitor this good!

Oh, I was just curious. Got one reserved but haven't been able to pick it up yet. I guess I wanted to not build up my hopes if others had come across this issue with this monitor because knowing my luck there would definitely be something wrong with mine.

Well given all monitors are panel lotteries, it wouldn't surprise me if there are returns . So I wouldn't rule it out but will unpack/check mine tonight and update here. But had a quick look and the current tape seems to be unbroken and the only tape on the box.

I think it may be that all stock has now gone. Though some may be reserved and if the person doesn't actually go and buy it, then the reservation would clear up.

I got mine yesterday - only had about 10 mins to set up and have a look. Basically a quick check seemed to show no stuck/dead pixels. A couple of areas of quite high backlight bleed though. I think I need to see it in high refresh rate gaming action to really get an impression of the benefit compared to my previous monitor.

Issue I have is pixel density, can tell it when compared to my old 24" 2k.

Smooth as my TN 144hz monitor but with better color. Backlight bleed at corners but more or less same as my old TN. Also I don't like to play games or watch video in dark which make my eye's uncomfortable.

I saw the MSI MAG272QR while doing research on the LG, the MAG272QR is using VA panel for around £280, haven't see any details review yet apart from user comments but look good for 2k 144hz.
Finally installed mine today, luckily the dual monitor arm I'd ordered was arriving today as well. Out of box calibration seems to be pretty decent and has very minimal ips glow. No dead, bright or stuck pixels. My 24" TN panel seems slightly darker than this one although the colour vibrance blows the TN away. Also for me coming from a 1080p, the extra detail @1440p looks really good. Now looking to sort out the 60hz/144Hz issue, as it seems the LG is down to 60Hz despite nvidia panel claiming 144 hz (UFO test).

Does the monitor itself not show the 'actual' refresh rate in the OSD? Or is that what you mean, that in the OSD is showing that it is running at 60Hz?

OSD and the Nvidia panel both show 144 Hz but when I run the refresh rate test on the UFO test site it's showing 60 Hz. Could be that the test site is reporting incorrectly. But the windows/Nvidia issue with different refresh rate monitors is quite known.

How interesting...I hadn't heard about this issue. Hmmmm, I am away from home so not had a chance to properly test mine yet. I have just upgraded my GPU and this time it's an AMD card so probably won't have this issue (though the AMD drivers seem to give their own problems )
