Could be a good budget IPS 4k option. Serious gamers and designers might want to look away.

Free 10-day delivery, or upgrade to 3-4 day or Next day at £4.95/£9.95.

Color Gamut (CIE 1931): NTSC 72%
Color Depth (Number of Colors): 10bit(8bit + A-FRC)
Response time: 5 ms
Native Resolution: 4K 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz
Display brightness: 250 cd/m²
Input Connectors: HDMI IN1, HDMI IN2 , DP(DisplayPort) IN, H/P(Headphone) OUT

Manufacturer's page lg.com/uk/support/support-product/lg-27UD59P-B

Going by the owners manual the -P model appears to come with a height+swivel stand, over the non-P model which appears to have a tilt only stand. LaptopsDirect's listing seems a little inconsistent (seems to show the tilt stand), so buyer beware. EDIT I received the -P model with the height-swivel stand, contrary to LaptopsDirect's photo/listing - makes it an even better deal in my opinion.

PriceSpy says this price came into effect 10th Jan.

Next cheapest for this model I found was £373.19 @ Insight. For a close comparison, CCL Online has the LG 27UD58 for £347.40.

So this seems like a good budget 27" option, with passable brightness (e.g. there are LG models at 300 cd/m² but they are more expensive). Of course, there are cheaper options at 24", and if you're looking for a cheap 32" 4k IPS consider ElectriQ eiq-324KMALU for £299.97. There are other threads for discussing 4k G-Sync and/or TN monitors with high color gamuts etc.

4k on a 27" monitor is fine as you're probably only a couple of feet away. TVs are a different matter.. at 10 feet you need a 70"+ screen to be able to tell the difference between 1080p and 4k with 20/20 vision.

It don't matter about size 4k is 4k it's pixels per inch
Ordered mine on Friday, chose the next day delivery and it arrived first thing this morning. Absolutely perfect! It is the 27UD59P model as per the description with the tilt/swivel stand. As another post mentioned it has built in speakers (not the best quality but they work) and it also came with a displayport and HDMI cable.

Very happy! Thanks for a nice find!

4.5ms is so much better.
I got the 27UD58 (last years model?) for exactly the same price from eBuyer last summer. It's a good monitor, 4k on a PC is excellent!
Assuming not a misprice? Laptops direct can be very bad at that.

Not very convincing that no other major retailers in UK stock this. Amazon DE do sell it. I could find no reviews on this model. Amazon Uk only sell from other retailers.

Your link to CCL is for a different model number. Some of the other LG models had issues with image retention. If I am going to spend £300 on a monitor I would prefer to see a review first.

The list on Pricespy is full of firms I don't know with only one firm linking to a website and that was ebay.

My German or Dutch is not great. Looks to be an import.

What are you talking about? 5ms is good for a IPS. I paid £800 for my monitor and that’s 4ms.

4k on 27" is really nice everything looks really crisp and sharp. I have the LG 27UD68P great panels.
Seems like a real good deal - 27 inches of 4K goodness at 60Hz - whats not to like? IPS too!

Not 144hz. Bleurgh!
Reading the manual the model with P is height adjustable up to 13cm and the base is different to the shown one, which is the non P model. Ticklist also says this is NOT height adjustable

A budget price, but what gamer wants 4k on a budget?

Not Ultrawide

I desire a 4k 144hz Ultrawide but even a 120hz 1440p Ultrawide costs around £800

I'm waiting for 120hz 1440p 34inch Ultrawide at most £350

I use this in a dual monitor configuration with a 1440p 165hz monitor, it's perfect as a second screen and looks great with my ps4 pro, nice and responsive for playing fighting games on.

LOL like you can tell the difference at 60hz. Need to consider the input delay of the monitor as well as the pixel response times. TN panels not faster by default just because of the pixel response time.

What does that even mean?
The price isn't unrealistic. This model was selling for $300 in Costco (America) just before Christmas.

LG have a number of new monitors with new panels coming out soon, hence lower prices on excess stock and a number of their older models no longer available for purchase.

No, you don't. That's complete and utter rubbish. I have a 50' and not exactly perfect vision and the difference is huge, even from a good distance.
My biggest concern would be Laptops Direct return policy if you believe you have a fault with the product.

As far as I can see, you have to contact the manufacturer (LG in this case), get them to agree there's a fault, get a support reference number from the manufacturer then go back to Laptops Direct. Is a manufacturer really going to confirm there's a fault without seeing the product. That could mean sending it to the manufacturer. Who pays for that? It will often mean you have to register the product first. What if it's intermittent? So many questions. Time consuming and fraught with difficulty. I think they hope you'll just give up.

Amazon returns policy is so much easier!!

Am I wrong? Any comments on this appreciated . . .
Quite expensive still. You are in 4k tv price territory.

Indeed.

From the manual:

I've eMessage'd laptopsdirect to see if they can clarify
Would prefer a 120hz 1080p instead.
