I have an older model with a bigger stand and without Freesync and I love it. You do require that bit of extra GPU power over the standard 1920x1080 res, which is made up to 2560x1080 to maintain HD (Otherwise it would look nasty)

I prefer the stand on this, as it splays out instead of the dinner plate stand I have Not had any issues at 5ms gaming and this has "1ms Motion Blur Reduction" Which I have never experienced personally, so couldn't really comment there. The GTG is down as 5ms anyways.

Lots of games supporting ultrawide now, including PUBG, which I do think you get the edge on with that wider field of view. I end up spotting things my team mates don't, that would probably be out of view for them. If you're playing a game that isn't supporting the 2560x1080 res, you will get black bars down either side. Same when using a console on it.

Speakers built in, which aren't awful and fine for most things, although guessing most gamers would be using a headset anyway?

If you have a Mastercard credit card that doesn't charge a fee for using it abroad, then today it work would out at £201.87 if you pay in Euros and not GBP.:

Ordered, thanks OP
Excellent price, have been looking at the 29UM68 on Amazon at £260. This one seems to go for around £300 so is a good deal, have ordered one for shouty kid for Christmas. With expedited delivery it came in at £230. Does anyone know if it comes with a DP cable in the box?

According to LG it does
presumably it comes with a euro power supply or is that not a problem with this model?

It looks like it has a separate supply like a laptop type. Guess it just needs a UK plug. The voltage is 110-240 so that's ok.
Serious heat! Thanks OP!
Ordered this, aside from gaming, I love having extra screen space for more browser windows etc. Does anyone know how this will work alongside a Macbook Pro as I use one of those for developing, hoping it doesn’t stretch things out at a lower resolution.
Got one of these from Amazon uk a couple of weeks back for £205.
It has a slightly different stand,/but has Freesync and specs are exactly the same.
Was a one day sale and luckily caught it just before midnight.
Excellent monitor.
Not bad sound compared to others ive had.
There are hacks that allow many games to work on ultra wide, although some work better than others.
You can always run at standard 1080p.
I've been testing the 25" (older) version of this monitor for a few days now. I think it's worth mentioning that Amazon Prime Video supports 21:9 native 1080p in Microsoft's Edge Browser - but obviously only for content shot in that resolution. Unsure about the current situation regarding Netflix.

I am looking for a monitor when working from home (so only a little TV watching
I'm thinking an ultrawide will help display things side by side, such as excel and chrome.

Is this Monitor is overkill for me?

Thanks

Should be a good fit, seems to come with software for splitting the screen into workspaces, or with windows you can just drag apps to each side to automatically arrange them
The one I ordered turned up today. Checking out the box contents before wrapping it up for Christmas. Unsurprisingly it's a Euro plug in the box. The screen is powered by a laptop type supply that takes a cloverleaf plug on the input side. I have a spare one from an old laptop which works fine. If you don't have one (and have ordered the monitor) you'll need one of these amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1 or just chop the plug off and put a UK one on. HDMI cable included in the box, but no displayport cable, if you want to connect it that way. I sneakily hooked my laptop to it before putting away, no dead pixels and quite frankly it looks amazing.
This price has now raised to £278
