Pretty good price for an IPS ultrawide monitor. I can't see much else around this price, unless you drop down to 25". Doesn't seem to give any spec. on response times, so may not be ideal for gaming. Hot deal regardless imho.

Has PIP (Picture-in-Picture) which is a bonus, but no mention of RF port for the FreeviewHD which is weird.:|

wITH THIS, you could work on your excel presentation for work on one half of the screen, and your children could play their computer games on the other half of the screen. Brilliant!

Would ps4 work with this or would you get nasty black borders?

Black borders, it's not designed to work at this res.

Anyone know how this performs with a 2009 iMac i5? Screen packing in and £400+ to replace.

I see it's got SCART input, has anyone tried using it for retro gaming?

I've just ordered this and was about to post the deal. For anyone wanting it cheaper submit the ebuyer page to bespokeoffers.co.uk. they are a price match site run by barclays. they came back with a offer of £163.18 for this monitor. Now if you then visit bespoke offers via quidco they are offering 12.5% cashback on bespokeoffers orders.....

Works out at around £143 once the cashback is paid out!!

for a bit of effort there's money to be saved and a bargain to be had :-)

Facemask!!

Might be worth noting - on the manual for this it says not to leave a still image on the screen for long periods. Also everywhere else it's sold as a TV not a monitor, I can't even find common specs for it such as GTG response times.

While I think it's a good offer for an all in one TV, I wouldn't be surprised to encounter ghosting & burn-in when using this as a monitor.

if this is anything like my 24" 1080p LG "TV", I would re-consider using this as a monitor, as it's not possible to turn off the TV's image processing when using HDMI. I've had to tweak the H & V sharpness as best as I can, but it's not ideal.

oos Boo, been waiting for a monitor like this..

Ultrawide! it's a 2560 x 1440 with 180 pixels lopped of the top and bottom.

Hi, found this on Revoo review site:+I use it mainly for gaming, the … Hi, found this on Revoo review site:+I use it mainly for gaming, the ultra wide display is amazing especially for battlefield 4 or driving simulators. Just make sure your pc can handle the 2560x1080 resolution.Bad Points−Its a tricky rezolution 2560x1080, most of the newest game do support it but not all. Older games are even harder to play on the full screen. Its a pain to play games full screen, you have to use 3rd party programs to reach the native resolution on the 21:9 wide display.

false statement, any custom made resolution is supported by 95% of games even the very old one. Make a custom resolution on your existing monitor and it will automatically appear in the game. if your monitor is 1080p, try 1920x820 (21:9) or anything you like not over your max res.

Mine arrived today and had a brief play with it tonight, got my gaming PC to recognise it no problems going hdmi from the graphics card to the monitor and got the full 2560x1080 resolution. Fired up a few games and all look pretty awesome on that nice wide screen! Witcher 3 took a frame rate dip bumping it up to 2560 so I think we've found the breaking point of my ageing graphics card, will need to upgrade that if I want to play the latest games in ultra wide resolutions.

Overall very impressed, it's an odd resolution to get used to and the 29 inch size isn't as big as id hoped coming from a normal 24 inch. However I think any bigger than this and you need to be looking at 4k anyway as it can look quite pixelated if the dpi isn't very high at a larger monitor size.

Haven't had chance to try the TV stuff out yet, and this is definitely geared for multiple inputs and having multiple things on screen.

For those saying this isn't supposed to be used as a monitor, it has a proper full size display port socket on the back which you rarely if ever find on TVs. This is very much a monitor AND tv. There may be a few compromises for it being a combo device but by the time quidco cashback pays out this will of cost me £143 delivered and I'm not complaining at that

Anyone thinking of buying these 29" ultra-wide monitors really need to see just how short they are.
For anyone that wants to know, the response time is 5ms GTG (14ms BTW), refresh is 60Hz.

Handy site for comparing screen sizes. It's about the same height as a 23" monitor and 6.5" wider.

displaywars.com/23-…1x9

If you want to beat a 24inch 16:9 monitor in both width and hieght you need a 34 inch 21:9 moniotor but obviously these are pretty exspenive.

These arent for everyone but they are brillaint for most games and for anyone that uses software with a timeline line video eiditing or photo editing for comparing before and after shots on edits. Garage band music editing software also very cool on these.

MOST people will want 16:9 for sure but these can be perfect for certain uses.

Being IPS - will this be good for photo retouching work?

Got one of these, and I'm loving it. Brilliant picture and brightness, surprised on how much supports 21:9 now.

Got my monitor/TV. It's got really good points.
- The picture is bright and clear.
- Audio is rich even though the speakers are so small. Don't max the volume though as it will distort.
- The TV channels can be renumbered to support your viewing choice (you are not forced with the freest or free view order).
- The power and heat are really low.
- Supports all kinds of resolutions and refresh rates. I ran the native resolution at 47.6Hz to allow an old Mac mini to drive the display through it's HDMI. Perfect!

Some negatives:
- PIP is not configurable enough, especially for the position. Would like to move it to the top corner.
- Screen does not come protected in the box. Amazing LG cover all the plastics and leave the screen exposed. Perhaps that was just my box??
- Channel changing can be a little slow.
But I can live with those, especially for the price. Thanks Op!

Bespoke offers totally scr*wed me up I have received their Beat my price offer of £158 (fulfilled by Fireworks Merchant Limited a.k.a. Flubit) but they have delivered LG TV 29MT45D (supplied by DSG). So now I have no monitor as Ebuyer is OOS and Amzon ramped up price to £292.
Also quidco didn't track either. One big headache now!

That's really bad I'm sorry to hear that! They can't just send you a completely different product if they stated a match to the listing you supplied. All I can say is that it worked really well for me, I got the monitor I wanted from foreworks at the lower price and quidco has tracked. Ordered a load of PC components for a gaming rig I was building using the same system and saved a fortune and everything I ordered was sent correctly

It will be interesting to see how they will wriggle out of this now. I went with Bespoke only because Flubit themselves offered £6 discount on Amazon price (which also was £180 to match Ebuyer).

Senukas, Exactly the same for me. My delivery turned up today and it was the 29MT45 as well. I got onto bespoke offers straight away and Emily was sympathetic but referred me to the returns procedure. Checked on DSG and they dont stock any LG ultra widescreens so its going to be interesting how they wriggle out of this one.

Update: Bespoke offers have just come back to me and asked for a day to exchange....

We wait to see what happens next !

Received an email saying that they are collecting tomorrow. Ive asked them to confirm that this will be an exchange!!!

Bespoke simply issued a refund - not even an apology for this cr*w up! Fireworks Merchant advisor was more sympathetic but said they can't arrange a replacement because there is no stock.
Fuming!

Same here. Complete waste of time. As you say, not even an apology!

And now they won't respond to my emails as I have stated I want an answer, an apology or a monitor!
