sorted byHigh refresh-rate has nothing to do with a particular brand of GPU. My integrated Intel HD 530 that came with my i7-6700HQ can drive 1080p 120Hz and a 1080p 60Hz screen simultaneously.
It mostly depends on the output port that you've got. For 1440p 165Hz you'll need at least DisplayPort 1.2. Check with your manufacturer specs for a complete display output that you have as you can't check through Windows.
Use this link below for more info on max resolutions and refresh rates you can run between different outputs.

I would much rather have 1440p 100+ Hz than 4k 60 any day of the week and thrice on Sundays.
Cosco one only 75Hz!
Depends what you're doing? I am talking as a PC Gamer.. refresh rates to me are far more important than resolution. Always will be.
Other consideration for this like previous Spanish offer is EU plug.
More broadly, any one know what is best 4k for gaming up to £300ish, as hz don't feel the whole story and 2.1hdmi support isn't an issue for pc gaming only consoles?
Suggestions welcome, thanks in advance. (edited)
I read some benefits due to screen size but then having 3k (1440) as opposed to 4k surely will have disbenefits if a very good / similar screen and graphics card, much like 720p on the same screen and 1080p. I get it if it was a different standard monitor but both are LG and same line. Do elaborate please? (edited)
I see the gn has 165 v 65hz so yes although at 60hz gaming the latter may be more stable. Would be great to see them side by side. Think they are both made for different markets.
This review makes my point about resolution/graphics vs fps: displayninja.com/lg-32un650-review/
Difficulty is most people like me play a range of fast and graphic heavy games which may be less fps orientated like doom / call of duty (fps) and flight simulator and Forza (more about graphics), though both are important factors I know.
"Performance
The LG 32UN650 has a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz, which will not appeal to competitive gamers out there as you can get a nice 1440p 144Hz gaming monitor at this price range.
If you prefer slower-paced and more graphically-oriented games instead, and have proper hardware to run 4K UHD with decent frame rates and picture settings, the LG 32UN650 will suit you well.
Its input lag amounts to ~10ms, so there’s no perceptible delay between your actions and the result on the screen, while its 5ms GtG pixel response time speed is sufficient to eliminate prominent trailing behind fast-moving objects." (edited)
