An excellent deal. I bought this TV a few months ago and I am delighted with it. The only minor niggle is a bit of speaker vibration at certain times occasionally, but I think that is normal for these type of TVs and most of the time the sound is fine. The picture is suberb.

no doubt! good tele.

will more of these deals come out as we get closer to kick off buy now or wait a few weeks emm...

so being a girl with no clue on tv's - which would you go for, this one or the sony hotukdeals.com/ite…met ?

Out of the two (and for the price bracket of sub £300), I'd go for the LG. To get a 'good' Sony TV, you would be looking at spending another £100+.

I'd go for the LG personally, as it has a great spec for the money including 1080p (full HD).

I wouldn't mind a larger version of this - anyone seen any good offers on a 37" or 40" model?

ta

fancy one of these for a pc monitor...

good find
any experience with it?
any reviews?

Excellent TV, Had mine for a year now no problems at all.

Bear in mind guys, there is a USB port at the back of the TV which is usually for service only. However the Firmware can be downgraded and the Service Menu accessed to enable the Media capabilities of this USB port. Turning this not only into a TV, but also a HD-capable digital video player.

I have just ordered a Sony 32EX403 from John Lewis for £350 (that includes a trade in of £100)
& 5 yr warranty. This model also has Freeveiew HD which I will be able to benefit from next April when they start broadcasting in our region.

Yep, I did the remote control version as well, nice and easy. Although I did find very quickly that it's a bit 'picky' when it comes to file formats. Most of my blu ray rips have perfect picture but no sound. The same file plays fine through my Samsung bluray player.

When you enable the usb port as a media player it WON'T PLAY DTS SOUND.
Unfortunately most high definition files come with DTS sound, so you would need to convert them to play ( fortunately just converting the sound does not take too long)

These LG sets are good TVs , but the Toshiba 32rv635 model at the same price range have a much better picture quality. The standard definition on the LG lacks detail and skin tones look unrealistic.

The TV information everywhere states in the connectivity it has "LAN (for modem)"

Does anyone know what this means?

Great deal for 1080P TV. Just bought this from Currys pricematch plus 10%off the differnce = £294.80 no need to wait. Just pricematch with ASDA and not Dixons;-)

My lad bought one last time they were on offer and found that the side hdmi didn't support audio after ringing the helpdesk, only the 2 on the back are full hdmi capable, we had to get a right angle hdmi adaptor off the bay as the wall mounting kit has the tv flush to the wall.

Just something to be aware of if you wanted to plug an xbox or similar into the side...

Cheers

Rich

How does this work? Instore? Does it matter that my local ASDA don't sell TVs?

It doesn't have a LAN port on it at all, sorry. Lots of sites seem to have that listed but it's definitely not on it. I have the exact same model in the living room.

It's a great TV. I used the IR hack from a nokia phone (lgusb.wikispaces.com) to enable USB file store playback without flashing it and losing warranty, but I've not had any trouble with getting hold of non-DTS audio encoded files as mentioned above. I haven't had to re-encode anything myself but I don't download blu-ray rips and the like which may be more likely to use DTS, so YMMV I guess.

Picture quality is good, though VGA input is limited to 1360*768, so use HDMI or a DVI-HDMI converter if plugging a PC or laptop into it.

Sound quality is very good too, I assumed I'd need a set of speakers for it but the range and clarity is more than acceptable.

"The standard definition on the LG lacks detail and skin tones look unrealistic."
- I disagree but I guess individual assessments are going to be in the eye of the beholder. The advantage of buying from Dixons or Curry's is you can go see it in the shop.

Highly recommended at this price

I have not seen the Toshiba 32rv635 at this price paid £399.99 for it a year ago and still consider it to be a bargain, you would do well to get it at the same price as this

Really?
350 quid is taking you into Panasonic range

Nonsense. Firstly you're flashing it with the original LG firmware not some dodgy hack!. Secondly, if you ever needed to send it for warranty repair all you would do is flash back to the old version, turn off the extra settings then flash back to the version you're on. Simple.

Though I think the Nokia IR hack someone pointed out is a better idea.

Either way you get more utility out of this thing!

No Way a Panasonic (or Sony) is any better than than this Toshiba within this price range

"Having said that, it's still one of the best, if not the best value screen for under £500".

I wanted to get this tv today so I went down to my local currys in bradford for a price match with dixons online cause the asda one was out of stock. They didn't allow it and the only ones in stock were on display so I came home and ordered from dixons. I gotta wait till thursday for them to deliver now.

got it yesterday and I'm loving it

No longer in stock
