Damn, thought it was 3440x1440 and almost jumped on it.

*Must hold out for Black Friday*

1ms response time & IPS panel not going together 🤔

Are you sure it’s not a mistake ?

Ok found it...,it’s actually 5ms with 1ms MBR gimmick. Plus panel is 6bit+FRC, aka fake 8bit.

Why would you buy this over this one?

Seems to have build issues!

Because it's a better resolution for my viewing distance (I'd have to use 1.25x scaling at 3440x1440, yuck!), it's £30 cheaper, it likely has a better freesync range and I'd assume the build quality is better.

The only things that would tempt be about the ElectriQ is the VA panel (if it didn't suffer the smearing the 34" 2560x1080 VA panels do) and the curve.

Although the 34UC79G at £380 was a better deal than either as it adds several things worth the extra £50 like a brighter backlight, BFI, a strong curve, Freesync LFC, 144hz refresh rate.

I could get the 34UC79G for £100 more (thanks del charges). Is 144hz worth the £100. Just asking as im undecided!

Probably because this is LG AKA a 'big brand' while the other one isn't. I personally don't put any weight on brand name at all, VFM all the way for me, but there are a lot of people swayed by the name on the front sadly....

Playing on 144hz vs 60hz is like night and day if you have the hardware to run games at a high FPS rate. Everything is just "smoother" and it's a difficult quality to explain unless you experience it for yourself.

I recently bought a 1440p 24 inch acer predator monitor with g-sync and 144hz and it's been the single best gaming purchase I've made.

Might bite the bullet and go for the one with the 144hz. I have a gtx 980 and play on the lg 25 inch ultrawide. Would like to stretch its legs! lol.

Was gonna get the 29” for £250 next month but 34” for £50 more is awfully tempting. Mind you, it’s only going to be a work monitor. Excessive?

144hz is absolutely worth the extra.

Looking for a monitor in the £250-300 range is beginning to do my head in :-)

I keep flipping between one of these (but will the ppi be high enough), a 27" 1440p (but is 27" a big enough jump from 24"), or a 28" 4k (but my 580 isn't up to gaming at 4k). Then yesterday I read about the new AOC 31.5" 1440p 75hz freesync which will go on sale this month for about £250 apparently aocmonitorap.com/au/…395, I'm now more confused than ever...

Paid the extra £100 for the 144hz. My god its like going from SD to Full HD. Not going back now. Ultrawide 144hz all the time!
