Might want to re-read the description. It's not 1080p, 1080 is just the vertical resolution.

Bear in mind this is the same height as a 27 inch 16:9 monitor, so if 1080p is fine for you at that size it will be fine at this size.

displaywars.com/27-…1x9

I have the 29 inch version of this, very happy with it and suspect I would be with this as well even at the same resolution, unfortunately I would have to get rid of my speakers to fit it on my desk.
Good size for those without a high end card to power the newer high res ultra wides

Aren't people normally right in front of a monitor?

Personally I would want 1440p at that size but if your fine with the lower ppi it's a good deal.

1440 vertical pixels would be nice, but then the resolution would be very close to 4k in terms of pixel count, so you would need a 1070/1080.

Not that close to 4k, 5.0 MP compared to 8.3 MP (3440 x 1440 vs 3840 x 2160).

suppose. 1080p is 2MP so a big jump from that anyway.
