Found this review of it helps anyone

The LG 40UB800V offers good picture quality and deep blacks, a rare thing on LG's LCD televisions. However, just like most entry-level UHD models, it really lacks responsiveness; any fast movements cause a severe loss of detail. What's more, to keep the price down, LG decided to put in just one LED strip for the backlighting. The risk of clouding is therefore particularly high.

Great price, it looks like the early-adopter premium is gone on 4k sets now

Reviews not great but then again it's still a lot of TV for the money. Heated.

Will this have freeview HD?

Amazing find.

That's a very good question. The set will has DVB-T which is fairly standard across Europe, the difference being some of the frequencies used. Any TV you buy these days asks you for your zone (country) on the initial setup screens and then adjusts everything to suit where you are. With this one, its likely to start the set up in German language, you can change it to English language in the set up options. I don't think Germany has adopted DVB-T2 yet, but the telly should be one design for all zones.

The spec says: Empfang: (Analog, DVB-T (Terrestrisch), DVB-C (Kabel), DVB-S (Satellit), DVB-S2, WLAN)

So it suggests it has Freeview and FreeSat too. No new telly (especially a 4K one) is not going to support the HD broadcasts.

Same telly on Currys specifies DVB-T2: currys.co.uk/gbu…tml

Get Europe to UK plug adapter.

Some specs on sites like amazon.es are stating dvb-t2 some dvb-t so the chance is 50:50, I'm buying it for Netflix UHD as a bedroom TV.

Can I get a refund on the price I paid for this a few days ago?

We can trade freely within Europe and with countries outside the European Union that have signed a Free movement of goods act.

YOU WILL NOT INCUR ANY CUSTOM FEES BUYING THIS FROM GERMANY.

Yes the Freeview HD works in the UK - DVB-T2

I imported a Sony from Amazon.de just before Xmas - they don't deliver to the UK
(read about it on this post - hotukdeals.com/dea…515?page=16#post23968192)

If you want it you'll have to pay for a forwarding company in Germany to take delivery and send it on to you (I got mine from Mailboxde £18 in total but I think they've said they're not doing tele's now, others will cost about £25)

Great price but poor review.
Pay a bit more and get a TV you'll be happy with.

It is 399?

Has anyone seen the 49 inch with smart 4k 3D at 699.99. Would anyone recommend that one? Or avoid all LG tv?

No probs mate, I am happy I could be helpful.

Oh and I bought 1 @€334 + €13 delivery so €347 in total - so not a fake deal! The reason it's all in German is because it's Amazon.de - German Amazon surprisingly......

Thanks OP

Still not bad at 429 euro at 330 gbp

I ordered a pre-owned one for £350 (after conversion). They've taken the funds and i'm awaiting a dispatch date. From Amazon warehouse deals.

Will they deliver this 48" I know that not all retailers on Amazon deliver to the UK, but some do. I've bought many smaller items perfectly fine.

I hope the 48in is a typo for 40". However mine is still showing preparing for despatch with the option to cancel. I am confident that it will be sent to arrive between the 15th-19th January

Now confirmed as shipped. Anyone having trouble with the German Language should open any links in Chrome for auto translation

Apologies, I ordered a different TV ... my question was just a general question. I placed an order for a 48" Sony Bravia set from Amazon Warehouse Deals which came to about £350 after conversion. It's been sitting on this:

Expected Delivery : We need a little more time to provide you with reliable information . We will notify you by email as soon as we have an expected delivery date.

Various emails to Amazon.de they have said the item is in the shipping process and provided return details should I want a refund once it's been delivered. Or I can refuse the delivery and once it returns back to Amazon they will refund me.

All I wanted to know from them is whether or not the item has left the bloody warehouse with an answer of approximately when it will arrive. As the last thing I want is for them to realise it's a UK address and cancel the order on me two weeks down the line in which time I could of purchased a different TV.

It might be carrier related but mine has been shipped by UPS. I can see its progress from Poland to just outside Hannover. It seems very efficient although the delivery slot has gone from Friday to Monday which is still inside the original forecast. There may be an element of uncertainty because of the weather. Have faith
