You can buy the bigger 42inch version one in John Lewis for 95p more. Plus it comes with a 5 year warranty.

I cant believe these 4K TV's have dropped so much in price. At this level they have become really tempting. But then again, there isnt any broadcasted content. Voice of reason has taken over as I type this!

Cold, because is old model

This bigger and cheaper:

Can't vote hot when the JL one is available as detailed by dsaxil sorry

Been looking to get a nice new 40 / 42' TV and this seems to fit the bill nicely, Im really not an expert in this field though so im going in a bit blind.....To people who know their stuff about TV's is this really a good deal or are there other TV's with prices about the same you would choose over this? I use the TV for lots of gaming and Netflix etc as well as normal TV if that makes any difference, not too wories about freeview or anything as i have a HD freesat box but i guess this comes as standards with most smart TV's now.

Cheers for any help / guidance you can offer as i really dont want to jump in head first not really knowing whats best.

Good but I'd rather pay £10 for a 5 year warranty from JL.

Argos spec says it has HDMI 2.0 >

So hopefully it does 4K @ 60 fps on HDMI 2.0 input.

No idea of the status of this etailer but £399.95 free delivery & 5 year warranty on the bigger version? And it has the all-conquering WebOS.....

If you look on the currys website it's £499 which is the same price as this 40" in the OP. Personally speaking, I would probably choose JL for the 5 year warranty, but thought I'd point out that the same "bigger tv" is 95p cheaper in currys, seen as thats what you based your cold vote on

Don't trust that retailer, its a fraudulent site.

4K on a 40" TV is utterly pointless. Plus no HDCP 2.2. Best to save your money and get a regular 1080p TV if this is around your budget unless you're planning on using with a PC for games I suppose.

what tv's are the excellent ones??

Buying a 4K TV now without any 4K content available (apart from the odd YT short clip) is like buying a supercar only to have it limited to 70 mph. I'm all for technology especially love my home entertainment but would wait for a digital broadcaster (like sky or freeview) to readily show 4K content before I invest in one

now isnt the time

give it a year or two, when you can buy a 4k blu ray player and they start releasing actual 4k blu rays then your golden

for the record, a mid range to higher end 1080p television's picture quality will trump that of a budget 4k telly for a similar price every time

Would you ask a policeman the best place to get a pint on the way home ?

I can't explain why, but I have this raging need for 4K

It could be because my new place only has a 720p 32" TV and I just bought a PS4

Buy it then .

Think I'll wait until the 2015 4k Tv's, the format will be more mature then.

I think this "Black Friday price drop" is a rip-off ****! They are selling for the same price as normaly they do.
They are scamming the people to say that this is the dropped price for black friday!!!!

Has anyone managed to install Netflix on this model?
