Very good price. Same on Amazon at the moment as well I think, but I'm just wondering if John Lewis would price match so you could take advantage of their 5 year warranty, etc.

Couldn't get your link to work, but Amazon are doing it for the same price here:

amazon.co.uk/gp/…NB2

Dead link for me

Mod & Ed

link should now work

showing as £599 at currys

good TV but prefer the edge lit la660v range. what do you wanna know op I work as a lg in store demonstrator.

They should price match that, they matched a couple of 55" LG's at Currys a couple of weeks ago for me, so can't see there being an issue with this.

Not sure why its gone back to £599 online but I was in Currys store about 15 mins ago and it was being sold for £499 as per Amazon price. Looked a cracking TV for the price.

These are great TV's, I'd say worth the money. Amazon are still doing this one for £499.

the la620 is a excellent passive 3d set which has 2d to 3d, dual play, divx HD and loads of other great smart features.

I sell more of the la620v than any other of the lg la cinema range:-)

I returned 2 of these because of banding/DSE and backlight bleed issues so personally I would say stay clear.
Saying that I replaced with a panasonic ET60B and that had a banding issue but not as bad as the LG's.

As panasonic are using LG IPS screens it seems LG have a manufacturing process that causes a uniformity issue that leads to the banding as such it seems I'm stuck with a tv with banding.

maybe only a issue with backlit led?

I have the 47" version. Great tv but I have banding and lighting problems on sport especially cricket, football & rugby with it so in discussions with Richer Sounds about my options. Shame as this tv is fantastic otherwise & I may yet keep it. 3d is really nice, I like 3d generally but I know its a novelty for others. Hd content looks very crisp and sharp. Sound is ok but recommend a good 5.1 to output through. Some lip sync issues, turning tv off and on sorts it. I like the Smart tv functionality too.

Could I ask what banding issues are. Is it a deal breaker.

Why are the product specs always so varied on new TVs?! Amazon states 100hz and Currys 200hz

100hz panel 200hz processor

hmmm....... price gone back up

100hz panel 200hz processor

"Motion Rate 200 Hz"
"100Hz motion refresh rate"

Can confirm in currys wolverhampton the price is 499. Still undecided whether to get one.

Andyc77 - I'm considering this model or the 42la690v which is £879. That's a huge difference. The only differences I can spot are the 400hzMCI and the magic remote. I can buy the magic remote separately for £40. Is there anything else the 690 does over this one?

I put in a pricematch thing at John Lewis this morning and they've just got back to me willing to price match this at £599 oO

Just had to recheck everything to find out it's gone back up, what's all that about??

Hello, can you help me please? I got the lm620t last month and everything I use with it has lip sync problems, if I use it direct or through av receiver. My av receiver can be adjusted to sort problems with lip sync but unfortunately it does not resolve my problem as I think the video is ahead of audio and it adjusts it for the other way round. Do you think my only option is to return it?

Banding is an issue where on light screens or panning video (such as sports) the screen appears to have slightly darker transparent bands either vertically or horizontally across the screen. You can still see the full image but it looks like the screen is dirty but its in uniformed bands.

Depending on what manufacturer depends on what the excuse is for the issue. With LG they blame the application of an anti reflective coating that's added to the screen, others blame a uniformity issue with the manufacturing process with one or more of the panel layers being applied uneven.
I personally think its the fact that these LED panels are manufactured so thin that the LED backlight diffuser can be seen through the panel and it leaves a shadow that can be seen through it.

Either way it looks annoying and although most manufacturers try to worm out of it being a fault I really think it does effect the image quality especially if you watch a lot of sports or watch tv in low light and as such should be accepted as a fault.
If you spend this type of money on a tv you don't expect the image to be compromised due to banding, if we weren't bothered about the image quality we would be looking at a cheap no brand tv not a tv with a reputable manufacturer.
