These were on clearance this morning. Apparently it's a national deal with stores all likely to receive stock, but may only be one or two per store. My local this morning had 2 come in - they had some yesterday too but they all sold quickly. These are clearance and only available instore at this price. As it's still full price online maybe there will be more coming daily (that's what I was told was likely but hey - it is Tesco don't forget!).

Can't grumble for that price!

Just for info. This was being advertised as part of some sort of promotion for a new video game coming out. I'm sorry I can't remember what it was called but it had a professional advertising display with £299 crossed out and "Save £85", plus something like "While stocks last" and of course pictures of the video game boxes. Whatever the game was, it showed it was across all popular platforms - PS3, PS4, XBox 360 and XBox One.

I'm not a gamer so I didn't take any notice of the game but if there is a very anticipated game coming out (or just out) then maybe one of you can think what it is.

Somebody has suggested it may be Destiny? It's possible, but I just didn't take any notice.

Reviews here give it 4.8 out of 5 from 79 reviews. Ok a Spanish site, but I'm sure they really are very similar to us when it comes to TVs. Also good reviews on Argos and Tesco Direct. Probably more.

But really - £214 for a 42" LG Full HD tv is poor?

42 inch full hd LG for that price? Can only be hot

Shambles can you provide a cheaper price or an alternative with HD free view? thought not

not at this price in Leicester it's on at 299 voted cold not national and no proof

No freeview hd tuner walk away

Not a kingston park newcastle they know nothing of this deal cold from me.

Are people really voting cold for lack of Freeview HD? Who uses that these days any more? Smart TV adapters are like 30 quid. Cracking deal.

I watch Feeview hd with built in tuner on my 2 samsungs gorgeous picture

£214.5 for a branded 42" TV and people are voting cold?

Come on really!

Hot from me

id vote hot if this deal is confirmed to be true, otherwise il abstain.

are you one of those people that don't take into account the price?

Can anyone confirm any availability in North/North East London? Would love to pick one up today.

Freeview hd is crap! Who watches Freeview anyway? Go buy an android tv box and never look back.

Haters gonna hate. Have some flames!

I think a lot of previous 'posters' are thinking the same. HUKD is not what it was.

I was there at 4am this morning as I couldn't sleep and noticed it. Spoke to the duty manager and he said that they were expecting stock today, although it may be one, two, three or more, or even none at all, but he told me to come back after 9am because the delivery wouldn't be unloaded until that time.

I phoned Tesco at 9.30 and was told that stock had been delivered but they weren't out yet. He suggested I went back this afternoon. I wasn't convinced by that so I decided to go in then. I went back in about 10am as it happens and asked one of the guys there. Checked his system and he said only 1 in stock - the display one. I said what I'd been told earlier and he said that I would have spoken to the head office somewhere in Wales. I said no, I definitely went through to the store as I could hear him discussing it with a colleague and the colleague asking if he'd checked the stock room.

Anyway, the chap I was speaking to was reluctant to help any further but I asked him if he could actually check the stock room. He did and came back and said no, nothing there. He then said that there was another more detailed system he could check and went out into the back room. I waited almost 10 minutes before he came out and said he'd found one. There were two, but I could have one as the other was being held for another customer.

So I went back upstairs to get it and asked the chap who was sorting it out if there were more than one - I wanted 2. He said there were 2 so no problem. Just after paying, the original chap came over and asked how many he had sold. He said two and the first chap wasn't happy! He turned to me and said "I said you could only have one!". I pointed out that I asked on the phone if I could reserve one and was told they don't reserve items, so I asked how could it be held for another customer?

He mumbled something and walked off, saying "thanks very much!" as he disappeared into the back room!

So I wonder if he wanted it for himself? Whatever, they had some yesterday and two today and judging by the advertising board I would expect more to come in.

But again, no idea what the game was!

Quite a silly comment, never used freeview and I'm sure most people have sky or cable TV.

Destiny is the next big games release.

I've looked at some pictures of the game/box and it may have been that, but I really can't say for sure.

This was in the Hookwood/Gatwick store - ground floor, just to the left of the travellators near the doughnuts and greetings cards.

Anyone tried Bidston store?

its £300 in store reduced from 385.

cold.

Same here woodpecker. You post a good deal like this then the arguments, stupid comments and proof police have a go and you think why bother. It is about time the MODS ( or what ever they are called) sorted things out.

I've never used any built in TV tuner. Bargain if it exists!!

Don't most people have SKY HD??

... I'm sure most people have sky or cable TV.

Really? What makes you think that?

So no one apart from the OP has been able to get this deal?

proof of purchase please. . .

Went down to my local tesco and price was £299. Take down post as this is not really a deal.

Same here. £299 at my local.

Ok so went to my local store and sales assistant said it was 299
I showed him the Hotdeals offer and he said very unlikely that it was ever that price and hotdeals offers are setup to get people to come in the store, and most likely that they are generated by people working for tesco to drum up business

it TESCO Bathgate it shows 379 on shelf and scans at 299. I'll try and upload the pic
