Exactly what I was wondering

590v only 2 HDMI I believe.

Wait for Black Friday!

When is black Friday

And it is on the Clubcard boost, so if you have sufficient points, could get it for £160!!

Day after thanksgiving....27th I believe

heat added, good find

I don't know about "6 year guarantee" but sale of goods act will cover you for 6 years - it's not like it has many mechanicals to wear out and you can fall back on that. I did with my Samsung that suffered from tab bonding problems after 3 and a bit years. got a brand new panel and my £95 deposit returned. Top tip, use Resolver's standard letters and you've got your 6 year guarantee wherever you shop. Oh, and use a credit card to purchase so you can take them to task as well if you need to.

Thanksgiving..?

Thanksgiving..?

Black Friday is an American "thing", and is the day after thanksgiving , which is the fourth Thursday of November.... we obviously don't have thanksgiving but our retailers have jumped on the bandwagon.... so we are blessed with the manic day Black Friday.

I don't think anyone outside america would know (or care) when thanksgiving was to be able to say "oh the day after that!"

Differences seem to be more hdmi ports and the smart system being non web os for this model. the frequency of the panel is still a 50Hz

The Sale of Goods Act (SOGA), or Consumer Righs Act (as it now is) is great in principle, but much harder in reality to enforce outside of the manufacturers or some other warranty. Retailers often pursue a policy of not taking you seriously until you start small claims court proceedings and they are officially notified thereafter. Admittedly at that point they usually roll over. But that's an awful lot of hassle for the consumer, something retailers know, hence their game playing tactics. Now this isn't the case with all retailers, so inevitably someone will respond saying their first threat of SOGA achieved results. But I've threatened retailers with SOGA over big ticket electrical items (which have higher than average failure rates) more than once and they will wriggle furiously until they work out if you are serious about legal proceedings. So I'd take a long warranty any time over the threat or enforcement of CRA/SOGA.

Dead easy to find out if you use Google.

Great price for an LG - heat.

got this for £305 off amazon a month ago and it's brilliant

I really like my LG TV, much friendlier user interface than my Sony and Samsung.

Hence why badbeatduke explicitly said the 27th

I bought this for £250 6 months ago. Apart from a crap TVs guide it is an amazing tv

The Argos one seems to have a higher (400mhz) refresh rate.

Thanks for writing this, I have the same attitude! Even big manufacturers have been on the phone to me, insisting they don't owe me anything after the first year of fault liability with the retailer.

I'll always pick a better retailer and distance selling regs over saving a couple of quid if I can help it.

PS Still love my LG 42LA640V. 100hz motion smoothing great to have, could take or leave the smart features. Support and updates for mine dropped away after two years. Supplemented it with a Roku.

My LG has half a dodgy panel after 5 years and LG have said tough, even though it seems to be a common fault. I've just bought a Samsung from richer sounds specifically for the 6yr guarantee

Well no because only one actually happens over here

Thanks for sharing this deal. I have looked at both these and have found that Argos one appears to be the newer version and has Web Os whereas Tesco one hasn't. Can someone shed some light on this, please.

The tesco spec states full web browsing
