Now thats a good price for a very decent tv!

I'm tempted - but still looking for a stand on wheels to carry this thing - and the whole thing must not be taller than 1.20m.. Cheapest stand so far around £100.

You have found the tv for you then. At £400, you won't find anything better. Don't delay and be disappointed when they run out.

well you missed out on the LD450 which was the best bargain ive seen recently but this is a very good deal for what is the baseline LG 1080p set, it can be hacked i believe to allow for USB play back if you care...

you can get teh 37" LD450 from amazon for £360 which is a good price and this years model as opposed to this one but this is about as good as your gonna get for a 42" LCD 1080p around this time

you can pick up a lot of plasmas around the £400 mark the samsung ps42c450 or LG42pj550 for example, they come highly rated but are HD ready...

excellent

thank you for the advice

look at previous threads about this tv (or the smaller ones) or google it!

I'm sorely tempted but I'm away from home at the moment. Expect the market to be full of deals leading up to Christmas with the new 3D screens which will mean manufacturers will want to shift their non 3D stock...

Anybody know of a similar price/value/spec tv to this that's available online? Only this would be ideal for what my parents are looking for at the mo but we're no where near any stock.

This:
froogle.richersounds.com/pro…450

is an example of the 2010 replacement model for the LH3000 series .USB video watching 'can' also be hacked on this simply by using an IR remote (not the one supplied with the TV) thus not voiding any warranties. Google is your friend.

£100 sounds like a pretty decent price for a wheeled stand, I doubt you'll get much better.
I spent ages looking for wheeled stands to put these on for conference rooms. Your alternative is a wheeled table or desk if you can find one, though check what weight it can support.
They're not supposed to be used to transport the thing around though, just give a bit of mobility!

Hot deal BTW!

This is a good price as I was in PC World/Currys and on special offer there for £450!

that sounds pretty good value, jsut for a latest series 42" tbh, 100hz is neither here nor there

i bought a tv from richersounds a month ago. is there any chance of exchanging it for this one?
i bought a 37" lglh2000

There isn't one left in Kingston as the website describes

you might be able to return within a month as that was the protocol with me and sainsburys when i did it there but i dont know about richer sounds policy,

your other option is to say its faulty and return it upon those grounds, put a blank screen up on it look carefully and im pretty sure you will be able to see some backlight bleeding however slight, most LCDs have it to some extent, look it the corners its often there due to the way there constructed.. id say that was a last resort if you take that to them and say its got backlight bleeding and i wanna trade it for another set im sure theyll be happy for you to give them more money for a TV

dammit i just bought the 32" version of this from richer sounds for £329!!! was the lh3000

reckon they will honour a refund?? only had it a week or two

i would have thought theyd do 28 days return same condition and all that craic.. give em a ring and see, better if you have the box too, they can be arsey aparently but stand your ground.. if not keep an eye out for that backlight bleeding its how i returned mine to sainsburys... it did definately have it though

well i have opened it for about 10 minutes to just ply about and boxed it again until i go back to uni next week

i dont really need a bigger screen though as its for my room but seems crazy as only £40 to get 42" over the 32"

im wondering if i should be hoenst and say i want the 42" for the extra 40 quid or if i just ask for a cash return then just go back and say i want the 42". hmmmmmm......what to do???

Anyone know if these are brand new or refurbs???

none left in Sheffield, bah!

These are ex display - one of the stores I rang said "it's ex display and it looks it"

Good if you're not bothered though

They vary depending what they have in stock. As its end of line and being replaced no doubt the new ones went strait away leaving returned and ex-display etc left...

Did mine for free using a Psiloc IR remote trial app for nokia phones with IR ports, worked a charm. Better to use the remote thing than try and flash the firmware, too.
