Looking at TV's and was after a 3d tv with 42" screen and i'm not fussed about smart feautures or freeview hd as they wouldn't be used at all.
Anyway I came across this and then when I added it to my basket price dropped by another £20 to £379.99 so have reserved one and will make my mind up tomorrow.

Has very good reviews both on argos 40 out of 42 would recommend to a friend (4.8/5 from 42 reviewers) and on sainsburys (5/5 from 50 reviewers).

Obviously not for everyone with lacking freeview hd but thought it was worth posting as can't really see any big name brands with similar TV's for the same price, please feel free to post some alternatives if i'm wrong though!

This is copied from the spec's on lg's website. Hopefully it is 1920x1080!

'Screen size (in.) - 42
Display Type - LED
Full HD (1080p) - Yes
Resolution - 1920x1080
Cinema 3D - Yes
Motion Clarity Index - 100hz''

Seems like it is definitely full hd, the 32" apparently isn't and that seems to be where the confusion comes from.
If you go to the questions and answers tab (to the right of the product description), then there's a question titled '' You earlier confirmed that the LG 42LM3400 tv is only HD Ready with 1366 x 768 pixels. I have spoken to LG Customer Services this morming and they''.

I bought this tv last year at £699 as soon as it came out- well worth every penny! and it is full hd.

Thanks.

I've reserved one and will pick it up at lunch. My mate gets 10% discount so it'll be really cheap

Hot - there is another link posted on HUKD where you get a £10 voucher for a £100+ spend so makes this even better!

Showing as £399 for me, but anyone who can get this for £379 and bag the £10 voucher is getting a bargain

Is the 3d worth it? And is the 2d to 3d conversion good?
Been after a slightly bigger one with passive 3d mainly for dualplay games and maybe the 3d but still not a hundred percent whether to buy or not!

Are the photos posted in the first post not the older uglier 3400 (this is the one I have)

Argos lists that photo but amazon have it listed a lot better looking tv with a thinner frame...http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/415NM0uqAzL._SX300_.jpg

By the way, my tv has been solid the picture is great and it's perfect for fast paced games Forza and FIFA with absolutely no motion blur!

I got it because I thought I NEEDED 3D and it turns out I don't, it doesn't get used at all. But at least the TV is still amazing without it

And the 2D to 3D conversion works as well as can be expected, I have tried it on Fifa and standard tv and it brings slight depth to the picture but it's no overly noticeable so I never end up using it

LG TVs are awesome. Its just a shame that this one doesn't have Freeview HD.

Got 2 LG TV's in the past year and half, both are great pictures. This looks a little on the bulky side though, is that right?

Slightly confused as it says it's Soarview compatible - if it is then it'll be Freeview HD but everywhere I've looked says it's just std Freeview

Saorview seems to use DVB-T/MPEG-4 HD according to Wikipedia, Freeview HD is DVB-T2 so different hardware required. Same as people questioned why the PlayStation PlayTV couldn't pick up HD channels in the UK but could abroad as they stuck with the original DVB-T standard unlike us here in the UK.

I'm not sure sorry, I just typed the code on lg's website and that was the pictures it showed. I'll remove them now as I don't want to mislead anyone!

Does anyone know if this telly comes with any glasses ? Cant see it mentioned in any of the Argos info

You would assume so as it's a passive TV and they are pence to the manufacturers.

I got mine at lunchtime and it came with 4 pairs.

nice find OP

tappy

Just back with mine too, 4 pairs as stated here (black, white, blue and green). TV is the one as shown in an earlier posting with the thinner bezel which was a pleasant surprise.

any reviews from people who bought this tv today as just reserved one , does it have edge bleed on dark picture like some lg led tvs. and has everyone who bought one had the thinner bezel one ?. any info greatly appreciated

Most LG TVs have 5w+5w sound, whereas other makes usually have 10w+10w. I've nearly purchased a couple of their TVs --- until I saw that, and it put me off.

I have an good TV deal to post soon to do with a glitch on one of the big electrical websites. Got £53 quid off a £530 3D today by accident and found out how it happened and will post it at soon as the TV arrives.
They've confirmed dispatch and I've tracked it so I know it's on it's way, just don't wanna post it and they see it and recall it cos I haven't paid enough.
It's basically 10% off any TV and I've checked a few times to make sure it works.

I have just bought this tonight, so far I am impressed! Even had a go of a 3D blu ray DVD that we got in a set and it was fantastic. Definitely recommend for this price! We had initially wanted a smart tv but got a LG 3D/smart/bluray player for xmas so now we have all the options we need anyway! Thanks for posting!

it isn't smart apparently but has Ethernet, can anyone explain why that would be?
