Bargain! Love that TV prices are dropping

Great value for money, just a shame that it doesn't have Freeview HD.

Still voted hot.

shame it's not full hd. not bad though

42" + 720p = Cold

Pretty sweet TV

Voted hot but would be better as Full HD rather than HD ready.

42" + 720p = Cold

Seriously! not everyone wants full HD and show me a branded TV for under £300 40"+ thats Full HD!

HOT OP!

But yeah, I checked the real specs and this is 720P only, so not AMAZING.

For £300 you can expect quite a lot nowadays. It's not stupid to expect to see a £300 deal for 1080P so don't be such a spanner yourself, there have been loads of deals for 1080P TVs of this size for the same price (but not such a good brand) e.g. hotukdeals.com/dea…401

Fine for console gaming and Sky/Freeview HD.

Aye, it is still a cracker of a TV, suitable for most people and most content is 720P or less (like the content you describe). See reviews: amazon.co.uk/LG-…2DI

Some people (like me :p) are just picky

Yeah, like blind people for example.

768 lines plasma screens are just awful. Don't take my word for it, go to the shop and have a looker

It's not the 720p I'm worried about. Think of the re-gassing costs of a 42" plasma.

Edited by: "haritori" 20th Jul 2012

Good price for a decent TV, don't worry about it not being full HD, 720p is fine for 95% of people on a 42" screen and the other 5% of sheeple wouldn't know the difference between HD ready & full HD if they were sat in front of it.

No mate. They defo need gassing every couple of years. The guy in Comet was telling me as he sold me a 5 year warranty that almost exceeded the value of the TV. Glad I got it though, huge weight off my shoulders.

On the plus side, it won't take as long to gas as it's only got 720 lines to fill.

Lol, the guy at comet was telling you, while buying his commission filled warranty?? Hahaha.

Regassing is a myth, especially on modern plasmas!

LOL they need regassing every 2 years!!!!!!!!!!

My Panny Plasma is nearly 5years old......never been regassed, in fact never gone wrong...nice man in Comet found a gullible supsect

Where is dooper with his reviews input? The last few TV posts I haven't seen him say anything...

got mine regassed at the local jet station.
Surprised they sold Xenon and Neon

Did you need a gassafe registered britishgas man to come round to regass your plasma?

You should go back to Comet and complain you were misold this policy. No need to take the ****, I'm sure everyone gets caught out now and then, but that is a painful hit!

Totally agree, if you sit more than approximately 7-feet from a 42" you won't see the benefit of 1080p over 720p anyway; but at least you can say you've got one to the Jones

For all you 'must have the best even if I sit miles away types' you'll be happy to know that there is BETTER out there to impress the neighbours Don't reckon you'll get one in the BM though

Enjoy

OK then please explain, I actually have both a 720p TV with a 16:9 ratio, so which part of the 1024x768 at 4:3 ratio have I got wrong ? I didn't mention quality or value for money, so I'd like to hear the detailed explanation of why I don't know what I'm talking about ?

I assure you mate, it's no myth.I had a Panny plasma a few years back and opted out of the warranty. My gas ran out a couple of years down the line. Ended up having to watch loads of films with black bars top and bottom as the TV didn't have enough gas to fill the screen.

Trust me guys, get the warranty.

These panels use rectangular pixels. If you have watched any DVDs then you've also watched something with rectangular pixels because 99% of widescreen DVDs are anamorphic.

Resolution is just one of many factors that contribute to a TVs picture quality. Most knowledgeable AV enthusiasts would put it pretty low on the list.

720p, almost fell for this junk
