Ok i went to richer sounds today to collect a lcd i had reserved but when i had a look it was in a bad way as it was ex display, we had a look at alot of other tvs in there and they had a LG 42inch plasma that was the model before the 42pg6900 one for the same price that had no 160G HDD
This was marked at £599 but i asked if they had a better price and he checked his computer and said £549!
Cant find it cheaper online. To get this price you will have to go instore and ask for the reduction.

"This 42in set packs in bags of functionality for a fantastic price - and it performs brilliantly, too" What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision magazine.

With the LG 42PG6900 you don't just get a first-rate plasma TV - you get a built-in 160Gb hard drive, too! This means that you can watch and record digital Freeview TV without the need for any other boxes! Furthermore, the built-in hard drive allows you to pause and rewind live TV.

With a raft of picture technologies incorporated into the Dual Engine, the 42PG6900 offers a stunning picture quality. Smart sharpness combines with 100Hz technology to provide superb image crispness and sense of depth - without the jagged edges. Thanks to a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 you can also be assured of bottomless blacks and excellent realism.

To further tailor the picture you'll find a superior AV mode system. It not only adjusts the picture to suit Cinema, Sport or Games but it also adjusts the sound to match. Speaking of which, the 42PG6900 has to one of the best TVs in its class for sound quality. Mark Levinson tuned sound and the Invisible Speaker System not only improves the look of the TV, but also provides a more spacious sound quality that gives a good coverage throughout the room.

Although smaller than the typical plasma TV, this 42" plasma TV makes no compromises in terms of sockets. Two HDMI sockets can be found at the rear with a further side-mounted one for occasionally connected items. Furthermore, these are the latest 1.3 Deep Colour versions that can support up to 48-bit colour depth - perfect for HD vision.

Thanks to those invisible speakers and LG's typically slick styling with blue accent, the 42PG6900 looks every bit the "showcase" TV with the performance to match.

Also it is frameless, no ugly plastic around it just a flat sheet of glass. This is the new model and richer sounds only got them in december.
This retails at Argos for a whopping £831!

Get a very good review here - http://whathifi.com/Review/LG-42PG6900/

Unfortunately, any review in that publication has to be treated with at least a modicum of suspicion. Not saying they're wrong but I'd like to see corroboration from another source.

hope you have more luck than we did with the LG42PT85. this also had built in HDD. after 8 months and three times in repair shop, i got a full refund from tescos
