Although the OP said unavailable on the website at the time, post 10 then said it was showing up on the site.

Heard too many negatives trying to game on one, plus nothing takes advantage of it, funnily enough just like 3D.

Ive got a 3D TV, but don't use that functionality even though it's right there. Yawn.

I have to agree with you on this one, I bought a 3D TV around 14 months ago, and I think it's been used less than 10 times, even the kids have no interest in it at home.

I've got one of these great tv good picture good sound 4k looks fantastic and I've had no issue playing my xbox one on it

Expect more juicy deals on LG TVs after their conference at CES tomorrow. They are betting big on Quantum Dot and OLED TVs and hopefully there'll be a massive clear out of existing lines.

I haven't used the 3d functions once

At the time 3d was being thrown in with every new TV it seems, so I had no option really

nice find

Good price but where do you even get 4K content from?

Bikertov, you've posted no deals since May 14 so try creating posts rather than being condescending about others

That's an absurd thing to say. 3D was a fad but a jump in resolution or internet connectiv......why am I writing this? You must be a troll.

I may be wrong but don't 4k sets suffer from gaming lag due to the set upscaling the 1080p signal to 4k?

Using the same CODEC and bit rate what would look better on a typical lounge TV under 50 inches?

1. 1080P
2. 4K

I ask because media that isn’t distributed via optical discs tends to be more bit rate limited due to the delivery constraints of OTA broadcasting and Internet TV due to pricing pressure.

That's like saying HD is a fad.
4K is the future. Pointless buying into it right now though as it will get better and cheaper by the time it's truely usable.

Only reason to buy into it now is so you can show off to your mates down the pub.

I got the Sony 49x8500 4k for £889 yesterday. Need to set it up properly as tv from Virgin box is poor at present although HD channels and blu rays are superb. I am a bit of a Sony fan, looked at Samsung options, LG prices look good but would regret it if I bought one and it was substandard. It's like buying a bed, most people spend a big part of their life watching TV!

Any tips on setting up this Sony?

I just got this TV and have to see that the screen resolution is out of this world and with games it had no lag of what so ever..

Unfair to compare to 3d...as that IS a gimmick! But this IS the way forward!...
Have you not even bothered to upgrade to blu ray from DVD then yet?

I had a 4K TV, I sent it back as the normal SD/720p and even 1080p content that you would be watching 99.9% of the time looks awful upscaled to 4K. Watching low bit rate/low-res content on a 4K screen is like watching minecraft.

Having owned a 4K TV I'd say 4K is as pointless as 3D at the moment, there is next to no 4K content and 1080p and lower media looks better on a 1080p screen than upscaled to 4 times the size.

Type in "7669" in your DVD remote control and press enter – the Sony Blu-ray will lead you through a series of tests and screens to get your monitor perfect. There is also something called the THX Optimiser which can be found on any THX-certified release. Terminator 2 on Blu-ray, for example, comes with the Optimiser under its special features menu. The THX Optimiser is great, as not only will it run you through the relevant tests and settings for your TV but for your audio as well.

Many thanks, will have to buy a Sony blu ray, most helpful of you, I find the discussion and comments just as helpful on HUKD than the deals themselves, except for the stupid bickering about brands. Cheers.

No, why would I? I download everything I watch, or stream it.

Great deal. so many awesome TV deals at the moment. Perfect for those in the market. Can't wait to go 4k but those 60" plus 4k screens still a little out of my budget at the moment.

Would honestly prefer an OLED full hd TV over a 4k set. And I'm not trolling because I vote hot and think this is a fantastic deal. Just opinion lol.

Not going to get into an argument, but you have only posted 3 deals ever, in your 7 years on the forum ...

I have posted deals when i have found an original and worthwhile deal. I vote on deals and i comment when i can.

My comment was valid as this deal was a duplicate of one only 30 minutes previously.

Interesting. I had this exact TV and was very impressed watching Blurays upscaled to 4K on it and was surprised at how much extra detail was revealed - although there are loads of display settings and you do have to work at it to get the detail without chroma or jpeg noise.
(had to send it back as really wanted a 4k monitor which this doesn't do well as has 4:2:0 chroma subsampling so not good for 4k text when running Windows. Nice telly otherwise - see my posts on other threads for the LG 42UB820V

Wat.

I could be wrong but could of sworn I saw this TV in my local Sainsbury's yesterday for £399....

Does anyone know if you can get picture and picture with the TV. (2 output on the same tv side by side (split screen))?
