Best TV overall at this price point right now.

Same price at Amazon but with less (any?) warranty. Also Richer Sounds is definitely renowned for its customer service.

RBGW putting me off, is this really better than the Hisense at this price point?

I bought his last week replacing a 1080p LG. Cant say I havenoticed major improvement in picture so far, still need to play around with it.
One bug though is Xbox one S claims no hdr10 yet specs say it is a hdr10 set.
highlights are webos, amazon and Netflix 4K built in, freeview guide is so much better than last version.

Pretty sure that is not valid as this is a offer/promotion. Not exactly clear tho.

Hot deal.

Would this be good enough for Xbox One X

In the past they have generally accepted this voucher on the email promoted items. I know @Richer.Sounds are on HUKD and have generally been very generous with their offers, so perhaps they can confirm.

Also, this is £399 everywhere. AO, Amazon, Currys....

Nope
there is no setting on the LG to do this.

can you access the HDMI ports in settings

No, no such option whatsoever. Why on earth would they not just have it turned on anyway?
it would also have been nice to have a HDR or 4K upscale button so you can instantly see any improvements instead of having to go into picture settings to change (even then it’s called hdr effect)

I am almost sure that all lg tv have HDR disabled as default and you have to enable it in the individual HDMI ports it will be called UHD colour or UHD deep colour the xbox wont pick it up until you enable it on whatever HDMI port you got it connected to also your HDMI cable must be 2.0 have you tried to find it this way
Press the Settings button.Scroll down to All Settings.Navigate to the General tab.Select HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color. Each of the available HDMI ports should now be listed on screen.Enable the feature on the ports of your choosing.can you access the HDMI ports in settings

This amazon review of this lg tv tells you the same amazon.co.uk/pro…r=7 its the first review

What is the sound like? How smart is smart, for example does it pick up youtube, websites, etc.?

I've got this TV - It is stunning for the price point. And those saying it doesn't have HDR 10 it does you just have to activate it in the settings.

Anyone use this for PS4, and screen banding issues? Darker patches when panning?

Nowt special ,as mentioned , and a bit small.

Call me shallow, but we all have a degree of brand conciousness in us. I would rather have people come around to my house to see a LG TV in my living room rather than a Hisense. I know I am a bit 'heart over mind' sometimes

So, when can I come over to your house & watch free (LG) tele?

That is shallow, yes. I'd rather have a TV I loved for its picture quality than worry about what the constant image on the bezel looks like lol.

I did see this in Curry's this morning - looked alright, but this seems to be standard price.

As someone else mentioned Hisense, it might be worth looking here - ao.com/pro…spx - as ao.com have a 45inch 4K one at £449 but with £50 cash back (plus TCB of 2% iirc). This is a new set (and size) and is £449 at RS, John Lewis etc (though with better guarantees).

I had the Hisense 45", returned it due to screen banding and dark corners. Colours were nice and 4k looked excellent, just not that great for gaming. That's only my opinion.

Just picked this up from local Richer Sounds store. They accepted the £10 off voucher to bring this down to £389. Thanks OP.

Okay, wasn't hard to set this up but the freesat hd took ages to catch all 400 channels (some keep repeating, hence 400) and then it was a nightmare to renumber the channels to our liking.

HD & 4K content looks brilliant on this TV, but SD channels are too mediocre even after tinkering with colours & settings. I found the brightness of TV to be a bit dull/dim, compared to my old LG 1080 def tv.

The tv is quite light & the box is also quite slim as I was able to fit this in the boot of my car.

Just the brightness & the mediocrity of SD channels is putting me off. Will tinker with the settings for a couple of days, if things don't improve with SD channels I shall return this.

Hope this helps would be buyers....

Yes, in the picture settings there is an option of HDR (with three sub-options light, medium, strong) - I tried it, didn't like them, so I am atm (before I try the which settings) on the Standard picture mode modified by myself.

But I don't think even in the HDR mode the tv will upscale normal/SD picture to HDR. It just upscales HD channels/vids etc IMHO.

I tried those settings, they are good. The tv is very watchable from in-front, but from the side it feels quite dark & a bit grainy. Unfortunately, our living room is set up in a way where both sofas are on the side of the TV, not in front. Thinking of returning this.

I am surprised too. Supposed to be 178 degrees of clear viewing.

Hi there,

I saw your comment on the thread and wanted to take the opportunity to reply.

Although it appears no_Sunshine has beaten me to it, I can happily confirm we’ll accept the £10 VIP voucher against this deal.

Of course if any HUKD users have any problems getting hold of this TV do get in touch privately so I can arrange to get them one.

Many Thanks

Just called Richer Sounds to tell them that I will be returning the tv as not satisfied with it. I was told that I would have to pay a £58 depreciation charge. I've never heard of this before. Isn't there a 28 day consumer satisfaction guarantee, where you can return a product if you're not happy with it?

Can apply TVS10 code to make this £360 at Argos.

Comes up at £429 but is £399 once added to basket.

This or the difference worth it for the LG 43uj670v?

670V for sure. This is not very good. Great if you're sitting right in-front & in-line, not so when you're not in front. 670V has edge lighting, might be better than this. Make sure you don't make the mistake I made, i.e. not view this in the viewing room (if your local richer sounds store offers this).

I went for the 670v ,had it since Saturday and I’m more than happy with it. Compared it to my mates £1200 Sony and can’t see much difference which is even better.
