Presumably as part of the ASDA clearance/toxic sale I saw this TV reduced.

Yellow ticket made me have a look and then I realised its a 43 inch LG 4k uhd. Seems a great price after I did a search on here for this model. £379 at Richer Sounds currently.

Found in Thurmaston, Leicester store but presume nationwide if you can find stock.

I'm local to that store. What time was this? Were there many there?
Thanks!

is it possible to check if it's in stock locally without going in?

Very good quality can't beat this for the price. I bought mine last week for 289

possibly a month back when ASDA was clearing stocks under their toxic sale, not many people could find any TV's in stores near them.. gutted as this is very good value for your buck..

I've seen 55 UHD Smart tv for 185 and didn't buy it. When I came back next day it was 325 already.... That was a month ago

This was at 9.50pm last night. Just before closing. So if you get there for 10am opening they will definitely have the one I saw on display. Thurmaston Asda seem to put just one of each TV out and keep the rest at the back so they could have 2 or 20.

Great price but is it RGBW?

Only supports HDR. LG seem to have joined the deception train too, it's an 8bit panel.
Also been put up before for even less, still a decent price for a proper brand and not some poloroid/technika vestel crap.

Took a lot of searching to finally find a review complaining that it is RGBW

Ah. That's better than the page I found, which was in Latvian or something.

They shouldn't be allowed to sell RGBW as 4K imo.
LG should be ashamed and publicly shamed for bulking out with white pixels, especially as they reduce the picture quality.

Yeah it's bullcrap. And all these tv's that have HDR!!! plastered across the box. And then have an 8bit panel and just downsample the HDR signal... By that logic a 1080p TV that happens to have HDMI 2.0+ could say 4k! But then downscales it to 1080p... Then it can't do it!

Guys, i was looking to buy this but I keep seeing these comments that are putting me off. I basically need a good 4k TV, between 40-43 inch. I will be using smart features and and a PS4. What is the best TV I can get between 40-43 inches?

Agreed, but at this price would make a great 3rd of 4th TV. Do we know of this deal is nationwide yet or not?

just wait 4 the LG black screen of death .....

Why do you need a 4K TV for a PS4 it has no 4K support and never will have,it would be far wiser to look for a good full hd set.

Probably better to get a 4k set as built in apps Netflix and Amazon prime have 4k HDR content. In the future the BBC and others will have a 4k channel on freeview or freesat and it makes sense to be ready for it. The ps4 also gains HDR on a 4k set on a number of games.

All the apps you mention and many more are already on PS4 that negates the need for smart but these days most indeed have smart features so in all likely hood most sets come with it,The standard PS4 does indeed have HDR support but not for 4K it's HDMI 1.4 so it simply cannot send out a 4k output and as far as i have seen so far only one game developer has stated they may release some 1080p HDR games.

The standard ps4 has a fair few HDR 1080p games including the last of us, uncharted 4 and the witness. I'm just pointing out that 4k technology is moving a head pretty quick, online streaming apps have lots of 4k content already and when the mainstream television networks get in on the act anyone buying a 1080p in 2017 would be regretting it a year from now

I agree, my point was that there is no gain to be had from a 4k tv on a standard PS4.I was having a look at full HD sets it looks like they are almost phased out now very little out there.

43 inch tellies these days are like the 14 inch CRT 'portable' sets you used to have in your bedroom for gaming on the Mega Drive on back in to the day.

We got the 50 inch we used to have in the lounge in our bedroom now and even the guest room has a 48 inch Samsung curve in it, big sets are getting cheaper and cheaper.

I don't want to sound the stereotypical television set snob but this is not for your front room as your main set, not in this day and age.

I personally wouldn't go smaller than a 55" if going for 4k.

They don't sell them as 4K, virtually no TVs are actually 4K. They are marketed as UltraHD, which they are, even if not quite 'full fat'. Also the LG 6 series TVs are their budget line of UltraHD sets, they charge less for them than the 7/8/9 series models, so where is the crime? They make lower end and higher end models to suit various budgets.

So please, can everyone stop moaning about the RGBW system, if you want the higher res, spend more cash!

dboi1993

I got mates with young kids who are in tiny rooms and even they generally seem to have 40 inch tellies, par for the course nowadays really.

Good price for this TV. Although the Asda clearances offer some great bargains they're generally low on quantity - get 'em while you can!

I bought this for 379 and got 30 refund from richersounds next day but i get 6 year warranty which makes it good value for money

I can't believe that people are moaning about this tv at this price.
As for HDR and true 4K video the only way to truly sample this is via 4K bluray. At present all there is to watch is a collection of seriously overpriced b movies.
Streamed 4K with HDR from Amazon and Netflix is substandard. The picture is so compressed that even the greatest tv in the world can't make it look good. Garbage in equals garbage out.
Unless you are PC gaming at 4K or watching 4K bluray then there is nothing to watch in actual 4K.
This to is bargain. What do people really expect for this amount of money?
