Wow. I had no idea that even existed.
    That is diabolical!
The UHD spec needs clear rules and regulations otherwise I'm sure we'll see more of this kind of trickery.

The manufacturers and model numbers should be publicly named and shamed.

Yet another pot hole to dodge.

Can we be sure it only effects LG, I thought in the past they supplied panels to others manufacturers. I was considering buying the next model up at JL as it has 3 tuners not 1, but would it be better to spend extra money and get a samsung?

In my case, I'm looking for a well reviewed 40-43" 1080p TV with Freeview HD, above average speakers (for a flat screen) and low lag/motion blur (smart features not required).

ok as no one else have answered,
I`m guessing when you press record on your TV remote,

its showing a message like "there`s no USB device present".

the type of device you need is ether a USB flash drive or a portable USB harddrive.

if you haven`t got one of those about you can get them from here:

    https://mobymemory.com/uk/
    or here
    https://www.mymemory.co.uk/?utm_source=MyMemory+Newsletter&utm_campaign=942f04649b-boxing_day_sale_26_12_2016&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_135199ec50-942f04649b-63551637&goal=0_135199ec50-942f04649b-63551637&mc_cid=942f04649b&mc_eid=fc7abfcdd0

if your going to do a lot of recording i`d recommend a harddrive .
