I have been keeping an eye on this TV for a while because I wanted Freesat for a family member (also has Freeview). It has been £399 then a bit lower then back up. I think £369 is the lowest and still £399 most other decent retailers. Very popular TV too looking at reviews. I like the fact it is John Lewis , that is worth a lot to me.

Looks good, apart from Netflix my TV is pretty useless when it comes to the apps. NOWTV is available on the TalkTalk box but only movies.
One the of the nicest looking TVs you can get in the sub £400 bracket.
People don't like that its an IPS panel but I think that is nit-picking.
The OS is also meant to be very good.
I'm tempted as I want a 43" tv that doesn't look budget (40 too small and 49/50 too big)

It is just a nice size and the stand will fit nicely on many cabinets, many have feet at the ends so the cabinets must be bigger. The centre stand was another reason I like it.
Can you connect a Mac Mini to this?
Proper centre stand! Hope other manufacturers follow suit!

Heat!
bought the 49 of this at Christmas for 379 from Amazon. It went straight back.. wasn't impressed with picture at all. hdr was minimal imo
What would people say the best 49" 4K HDR TV around is at the moment for sub £400? Seen a few LG's and Samsung's going around.
Good price, but please remember that because this is an LG IPS panel, it is not a 4k tv. Its a 2.8k tv. For most viewing it should not matter, but I have read for football in 4k there may be issues.
Great TV's. PQ is impressive and the HDR is good considering its 8 bit panel. The OS on this set is stunning and extremely fast. Lots of hdmi ports and Bluetooth audio is good as it the picture options available. Recommended (good for console and PC users as it has low input lag). Stand is also a better desgin all should follow.

I bought this exact TV a few weeks ago (using the 20% ebay discount) and I'm generally happy with it but I do find the picture a bit dark even with brightness and contrast levels raised. Also the 5GHz wireless range seems quite poor - my Netgear R7000 router is only a few metres above the TV but it will only stream properly on 2.4GHz - on 5GHz it will connect but Netflix only streams at < 1 Mbps instead of 15 Mbps on a 4K stream. I have no problems with my 5GHz wireless on any of my other wireless devices such as iPad Air 2.
Bought this for £400 in Sept.

Pretty quick menu, nice screen and PS4 pro 4K.

In my bedroom it seems great. Cheap enough to replace in a few years too.

Sound is good and didn’t buy a sound bar yet.

Horizon Dawn looks great on it.

Also use NowTv via Ethernet and have streamed my laptop.

No probs with 5 yr warranty.

Some good apps.

Have used Prime 4K without a problem.
I bought a 49 inch Sony android TV two months ago...after using it fir few weeks I decided that my next purchase will definitely be another android TV...the options are unlimited and Iam accessing any channel I could think of with a press of a button

In the sub £400 bracket for a 49 inch, there's only really the Hisense N5700 and an LG to choose between. The toshibas, Hitachis etc you see for that price are Vestels, no good. If you pay a bit more then you can get either the 50" Philips 6272 for £459 at Argos (a 5 star review from WhatHifi) or the Samsung 49" MU6400 for £489 at AppliancesDirect.co.uk.

Magic remote ready but it's extra on this model - around £40 I believe.

Still hot at this price though.

Hmm to buy or not to buy.....gonna be sitting a meter away playing ps4 lol
I’ve got this TV and would highly recommend. The OS is very good and smooth. The 4K is great quality and you get much more than you pay for in terms of features and overall performance and quality. Had mine for almost a year now. Great buy.

It just this, ao.com/pro…spx can I do it on there?
I have the model up. Not sure the extra charge was worth it but I am mostly happy.
The picture took ages to set up but it now looks great.
Local dimming/ back lighting is just horrific. Just a few bands from bottom to top. Completely pointless on a tv if that's all the local dimming.

Beyond that the 4k and hdr look very good for the price.

Apps are good. Amazon 4k hdr and YouTube look fantastic

Hi,

I download the Amazon app on the tv via LG’s App Store but only tried the 1 month free trial.

Didn’t like the old choices or the menus and cancelled Prime but it did have some 4K tv and free delivery.

Using NowTv. This tv has a faster processor for the smart software unlike older laggy LG’s.

Gamers - you’ll get 60 FPS max btw. Detects HDR too.

Fab little owners report there @jr007 time spent from buyers with the item in the thread, really helps others make a uniformed and wise decision as to what their needs will be for the TV.

I have this tv. Got it for £330 after cashback offer I had on my very account. It’s replaced my bedroom tv: I’m really happy with it. It’s light so wall mounted easily enough, the apps are smooth and work flawlessly. Can’t fault it for the money really
I compared this TV side by side in JL last Friday with the cheaper Toshy posted on here. Even though you get the blah, blah, blah the Toshy is a Vestel, it was a better picture than the LG posted here IMO.

Moral is, go and view a few TVs and pick the one YOU like, rather than taking in a lot of jumbo jumbo posted on here.
I expired this because went out of stock mid week but appears to be back now should anyone want one. For reference I did look at this TV before ordering and found it to be very satisfactory in terms of picture and design. I have a larger model myself which I chose over a £1400 Bravia having had both at home concurrently , the operating system really does stand out as very fast. I would always suggest looking at a TV before purchase but if I have to go by reviews as some may have to do, some are better than others. If someone does not like a set that is fine but people look for different things. A picture is important but two TV's the same can differ significantly. A look on AV forums would tell you that. For me, this set looks and performs well so will be ideal for it's new owner.

It was definitely £369 yesterday afternoon. JL messing about a bit. Keep an eye out because there could well be a £100 off it next.
