Been looking for a new TV recently and this is what I went for. 2014 Model. Actually bought it at John Lewis who have price matched this price and throw in their 5 year Guarantee for free. So far, so good - Had it for a week and really happy.

Pros (in my eyes)
New webOS smart tv platform (not fully up to speed (limited apps), but expect this to evolve as the platform matures).
Easy input switching (HDMI inputs appear as extra 'apps' which can be named eg Bluray, Sky Box)
Surprisingly good sound
Brushed metallic frame
3 months free Sky Movies offer, and 7 Sky Sports Day Passes.

Watch LG's trailer if you want to find out more about webOS - youtube.com/wat…n0I

Note: This model doesn't come with a magic remote as the trailer shows.

I like it - very intuitive compared to other smart platforms I've used. No full reviews of the specific model that I have been able to find. There are a few customer reviews dotted around...see:

johnlewis.com/lg-…122 (I think some features he talks about have come in the most recent software update)

and here (use Chrome and get it to translate from German for some dodgy English reviews!). They seem positive.

Sent over a price match to JL.

How's that price match coming along?

Agreed to match so 5 year warranty etc with JL. Too good a price to turn down on this spec TV!

It's actually gone down a tenner...so is £589.99 now.

I got price match also. Can't wait to play with these smart features. There seems to be lots of rave reviews of the webos smarts but no reviews of the tvs. I nearly bought the 50" in Currys but was put off by 1 year warranty, I know with consumer protection I'd be covered, but with JL there is a great comfort and service. The picture in currys looked great when turned down from the awful glare of the demo setup. Wish there was a proper review on the screen capability in the press to give me a little comfort, but when looking at customer reviews none seem to criticise the picture quality, so can't wait fir delivery

I should also have thanked op for the great find and posting. Well done Robert.

Sorry to resurrect an old post...
When you got the price match, did you do it instore or online?
I just tried to do an online price match and they didn't do it because J C Campbell is not in England, Wales or Scotland.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I did it online - I wonder if their policy on them has changed. They are based in Northern Ireland and there are no John Lewis's there so I was a little surprised they did it at the time.

Hmm... perhaps I'll try Currys for a price match or try John Lewis in store.
Thanks for the reply though
