I have an aversion to 47" LG LCD TV's now otherwise I'd have bought one. Pixmania's fault.

Is there anything we can do, i might go to the citizens advice tomorrow.

The way they worded it as "As you will have noticed the price of the product sold was a typing error"

Bloody cheek !

Did anyone print off the actual page with the special offer and 85% off and flashing timeometer, with this we may stand a chance :thumbsup:

Apart from cry?

Not really

No money has exchanged hands (regardless of if it's showing as pending/on hold with your bank) so no contracts have been formed.

The pixmania thread has gone

Maybe that's because it's been expired. If you click "Include Expired" in the view options in the grey bar at the top of the page you'll see expired threads as well. Or if you've posted in that thread you'll be able to access it from the "Your Recent Activity" menu on the right hand side.

Was the money actually taken from your bank though :? It usually take a couple of days after you've paid for something via Paypal. It'll be on 'hold' with your bank, just like if you'd tried to buy it from Pixmania directly with your Credit/Debit card.

Surely if you buy something on a debit card it is debited immediately, same as if you buy it from a shop. The transaction takes a day or so to appear on a statement but the money itself leaves your account immediately. Never heard of this 'hold'.

Not sure about with my debit card (never use it online) but with any credit card purchases they always take a couple of days to show on my statement. There was a misprice at Tesco a few months back, and the £45 I spent was put on 'hold' immediately with Halifax, but never left my account as they cancelled the order.

With Paypal, it'll show as gone from your PP account straight away, but shouldn't leave your bank for a day or so.

Some websites don't take the money straight away. I will have to see what appears on my statement but I don't think paypal would pay pixmania without physically having my money and likewise I doubt pixmania would issue a refund to paypal without having physically got the payment themselves. I am pretty certain money has changed hands and therefore a contract of sale exists. Worth checking with the bank!

If Paypal can't get the money from your bank account / credit card, they just put your PP account into a negative balance and chase you for the money.
