I bought this TV last year at twice the price and it has been brilliant.

so great buy at this price

Not as bad as the 'no go' HDMI cable posts

Not all electronics, just those that go above a certain price threshold regardless of how good the deal is. example is when someone gives a Celeton 925 laptop for £200.00 heat yet a Asus gaming laptop for £1000.00 will get slated simply for the price.

of course post a PS3 for a penny less or a San Francisco and it will get heat regardless.

problem is too many people vote on the basis of price and the picture on the main pages than actually making an informed vote.

Does anyone know whether you can connect external hard drives or only USB keys?

Well I've been after a 46/47" and I like the spec (here on LG's site) and it has good user reviews on Reevoo but I can't find any tech reviews of it. Anyone know of any? I don't wanna purchase and find out any bad points the hard way!

Voted hot, but I personally don't like LG and this also has no freview HD/freesat

for the price.....decent TV...

but nom Freeview HD and only 3 HDMI inputs kinda puts me off (1 need 4... and thats a minimum...)

but great find

Trusted reviews look at the 42 inch - LG 42LV450U if this helps.

Does anyone know what's the input lag like on this set please?

this TV aint worth £1199, similar models sell for £750-800. good price but don't buy it because you think it's half price. GO TO A SHOP and look at the quality - you'd be staggered by the difference in quality (SD and HD) - if memory serves me right this tv looked pretty bad on SD. I ended up with a UE40D8000 so am pretty happy :P

Is it 100Hz or 400Hz, because I'm confused. It says 100Hz on currys website but 400Hz on official website. Here is a link lg.com/uk/…jsp

More that likely hard drive only, no usb sticks (except really high end ones) will let you write to them fast enough.

EDIT: For recording which I dont even think this tv supports. Anything for playback only

very good point!!!

"The LG 47LV450U 47" Full HD LED TV incorporates a Freeview tuner too, which makes available a wide range of subscription-free digital TV channels and radio stations. A broad choice of connectivity options is also provided, including three HDMI ports and a USB port for hooking up a USB drive and playing multimedia files through the TV! It even supports DivX HD movie files for the ultimate in flexibility"

I have a 50 inch LG plasma and it has gone wrong, yes you guessed it about 14 months after buying new.It has a thin green line running down the centre of the screen and been told it needs a new screen which is too costly:(
This apprantly is common on LG/plasmas?

I have one of these, paid £655 after the sky cashback offer.

So this seems a good price for a decent set.

Hi mate, I'm also in the market for a 47"+ LED tv. On Amazon there is a comparison of the LG models amazon.co.uk/LG-…1-2

I dont think it has this model number on there though strangely.........

I thought I posted but it seems to have dissapeared!

So guys, is this the best 47" or similar size TV we can get?? I dont think I have seen better personally and I'm very tempted. Was looking at the sammy 7000 etc but double the money and they judder by the looks of it.

Worth paying extra for a 5 Yr warranty, John Lewis for example, worked for me when my 32" CRT tv was 4.5 yrs old and packed up, got a new 42" plasma and only had to pay £200 to upgrade to the TV of my choice

The sale of goods act 1979 should cover a TV 14 months old though, as it should last a good few years.

no freeview hd, lgs old led backlights, only 100hz but thats probably all you need, no netcast, no 3d.
for the price its good but theres much better for a couple hundred more out there.

I don't think tvs on here always get slated, it's just that when people see tvs on here without freeview hd and/or full hd, the majority of us are just trying to give friendly advice. This tv is a decent price for a large led tv, but unless you have virgin/sky, you really need to buy a freesat/freeview hd box to go along with it.

no freeview HD?! i bet CoD would look great on this though

Coming up at £699.00 now when I follow the link.
