This is the cheapest I've seen the passive LG 47" Cinema 3D LED 1080P Television let alone with a free Blu-ray Player.
You can also pay the extra £50 for a 5.1 Blu-ray surround!
Add something small for £1 then use GRAND10 to get above price with surround. ( thanks niknak)

I prefer passive 3D as the glasses only cost a quid a pair so its ideal for the living room.

I have been waiting for the price to drop - this is a good deal - thanks

Just what I was looking for, many thanks OP.

Anybody know of where to get a decent priced warranty for this - looking for 5 years really?

Go to richer sounds and they price match then charge 10% for warranty I think.
Not sure about the free Blu-ray though

Beware most suffer with banding/dse , look on the huge thread on AV forums and im speaking from experience, if you watch lots of sports don't get this tv buyer beware

Richer |Sounds don't do this Model - I did check
Also I want a passive 3d - not the active and I think only LG do them?

Also can you post a link to where you say "Beware most suffer with banding/dse" is reported - not that I am too sure what that is?

Thanks

LG and Toshiba do passive 3D. But LG ones are good. I just brought a 42" model today.

I have a 47"650T and have had no problems with it, the 3D is brilliant, the 2D-3D is brilliant the HD is brilliant, the football and F1 yes i'll say it once more is brilliant. With ref to AV Forums of which I'm a senior member as is deanos, have you still got or ever had a 650T? as you havent had much input on the 650 thread of late (who was helpfull to members with adjustments and did not knock the 650's performance) yes there were problems with the 650 on August to Sept builds (I have a July build) but if you read the 650T thread now there are a lot of happy users of this TV.
The model which is a problem is the 55" 980T and I would advise against buying this one but for most people the cost of this model would be far too high.
I will sum up by saying the 47"LW 650T at this price represents very good value, it looks good has lots of features and my Wife loves it, and she can be very pickey.
Buy it from Currys as the customer support to users of the 650T and the 980T has (and I'm sure deanos will agree) has been outstanding. I must make it clear I do not work for Currys or LG I'm just a normal punter.
If after reading this you buy one don't forget, you can return it if you are not happy for a FULL REFUND within a certain time frame.
Happy viewing. Voted Hot.

I have the 550t the 650t is the same tv apart from the 200hz, i have already had a new panel and banding still there, im now in talks with LG repair centre on what happens next, think they are going to write off the TV, the repair centre is well aware of the problems these TV's have and admin there is no fix

If anyone decides to get this TV just check it thoroughly straight away, look for vertical dirty lines when watching football or any panning shots on the sky or plain walls in peoples homes (like homes under the hammer)

Dont get me wrong its a good tv but the banding issues are so annoying

This is a vid of the banding youtube.com/wat…IR0

Nice one deanos.
Yes it is a good TV and as I said I do not have banding, and yes check it out strait away, but if the banding issue was not on yours ( I can't remember your build date) how would you rate it then? and we should mention that being passive= no headaches or dizzyness and cheap glasses.

If yours is written off are you going to have another 650T?
Noticed a free BluRay player is included.

Ive got this TV;

3D excellant, so much so family bought their own. Girlfriend even likes it and hurts no ones eyes.
2D - 3D, very good on HD pictures, SD conversion still quite good
normal pic quality - Good but ive seen better, mostly from plasma's
HD pic quality - stunning

The lines on the screen from sport I dont personally suffer from, but i have the backlight reasonably low and use the contrast to bring out the picture, I find this lowers any lines i may of had.

I bought this TV a while back for £1100 with 5% off to match their online code, the £200 sky cashback and then they were doing a 3d Blu ray player with the TV.

Now when buying in store, ask are there options I had two options one was blu ray player, one was a blu ray home cinema system!! no extra charge for home cinema, so i choose that and sold it for £220 bringing TV down to £700.

With the ability to play 3D and normal movies over the network or on USB i did not need the blu ray player.

Thanks for the info guys - I may take a trip down there this weekend and see what I can sort out - did any of you take any extended warranty?

If only there was an offer for the smaller versions

I paid £1,400 for the 55inch version a while back. very impressed with this tv. Excellent net capabilites including games and a 3d chanel. Yes 7 pairs of glasses included.
Great buy IMO

Its a bit of a mixed bag. I have the 47LW550T (couldn't justify the extra expense on the 650T which is only marginally better), and there is slight banding/DSE, but I'm the only person thats noticed it on my tv...and its on sports (e.g football because of green pitches). I know what I am looking for so spotted it...although its barely noticeable and if you are not looking for it, chances are you'd never see it.

Other than that, these tvs are fantastic, and great value.
SD picture (tv channels) - good out of the box, but if you tweak the settings a bit, the picture becomes very good.

HD picture (tv channels) - very good, bordering on excellent

HD Picture (blu ray) - excellent (although will also depend on the blu ray player)

3D picture - absolutely stunning. Passive 3D, so cheap glasses (no batteries required), no headaches, practically non-existent crosstalk

Viewing angle - as good as any plasma, very wide viewing angle

Gaming - lag is pretty poor. They have done some firmware updates which have improved the lag considerably. On Avforums there is a guide to minimising the lag. Personally though I connect my Xbox via VGA to the tv, so have pretty much zero lag.

Smart TV Functions - pretty good, but can be a bit clunky at times when navigating the menus. BBC iplayer works brilliantly though.

If people want to see how good this tv is, then watch Legends of the Guardians, The Owls of Ga'Hoole in 3D Blu Ray. For me, its reference level 3D.

Just thinking the same...

Hi,

Just a quick question as you seem to know the score with the 650T models.

What is the response time like as I heard bad things about them.
Saw this TV in currys on Monday and it is awsome for 3D and a better option for a family like mine.

I don't want to get a TV where you have to pay £80+ for glasses as I guarantee that they will get sat on by the kids

I intend to use my XBox with the TV but response times are apparently a problem with the LG's.

Please advise.

yes, typical me
i bought the 55 lw650t on sunday, got 10% off, but would have had 15% off if id had waited a day aaaarghhh.
anyway, love the size, everything good how it converts from normal 2D to 3D considering the programmes wern't meant to be 3D
shame i cant go back in time a few days

can anyone tell me if using my ps3 as a 3d player wont be as good as a 3d player such as this free one with this tv?
if you get me

Quiet bad input lag for gaming on the LG LCD cinema 3d sets. Beware. Otherwise good reviews I think.

Go in the store and ask for the extra discount, I've done it before.

Yes I did it with a debenhams table and chairs I bought Sunday. Just call them up friendly and say the price has dropped can I have the difference refunded rather than me sending it back under Distance Selling Regs and then re-ordering.
Saves them money in the long run.

Is it worth payiong the extra £150 for the 5.1 ch DVD player - I had hoped my current speaker which is 5.1. could just plug in = I think the BD660 is just 2 channel?

You can get this TV+Blu-ray player AND surround sound package for just £50 more:

If you go for the surround sound package for £999.00 just add something for a £1 or more in the basket and use code GRAND10 and you'll get 10% off making the surround sound+TV just £900.

Does anyone know a good 3D LED TV that has a good response time for hardcore gaming?

Obviously this one seems no good judging by the opinions.

As mentioned, I would prefer shutter free but that doesn't seem to exist

I currently own the new LG 47" 980T but it seems to have some persistent juddering on scrolling movement whenever any TruMotion setting is activated. I'm considering exchanging it for a 47" 550T or 650T. As it's impossible for me to appraise the 550/650's picture smoothness in a busy store with an eager salesman breathing down my neck, may I ask any owners with Sky to please turn to Channel 510 and confirm if this is what they see on their set:-

• RealCinema ON but TruMotion OFF - the scrolling text at the bottom is perfectly smooth (same as my 47" 980T).
• RealCinema ON but TruMotion ON LOW - ditto? (my 980T judders several times as the text scrolls but never in the same place!).
• RealCinema ON but TruMotion ON HIGH - ditto? (my 980T judders several times as the text scrolls but never in the same place!).
• RealCinema ON but TruMotion ON FULL (+10/+10) - ditto? (my 980T judders several times as the text scrolls but never in the same place!).

My screen is very reflective (Glass) - does the 550/650 have a matt screen?

Many thanks.

I am going for it.

And it's bought!!!!!!
