LG 49SJ810V 49" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV £599 Currys

Really wanted the 49sj800v but out of stock everywhere but this model has just dropped for £599 and think I'll go for this as far as I'm led to believe there the exactly same TV just a different base. Plus going for 50 less than the 800v

Yeah I've been looking at the 49SJ800V aswell. If the base is the only thing that's different I think I'll be going for this aswell

I have a which subscription and looking at the reviews of both the 800 and 810 they both sides the same and they also note that there the same TV bar the different base. Both of them are a best buy with which! The fact that it's 50 cheaper is an added bonus and can't see either the 800 or 810 getting much cheaper than £599 great TV for the money

JL has the 49sj800v for £50 more but you get the 5 year warranty.
Ordered mine yesterday 😊

5 year warranty with this deal too, granted it is with Currys and not JL for customer services.

Sounds like a good TV for the price. Sure, it's probably not the best for HDR content... but what is in this price range? Seen this in Curry's and aside from the Samsung 7070/6670, it was the most impressive display there. Thanks for posting

Yeah I agree and why I'm more than happy with this at this price range. Liked the QLED and oled sets but this at more than half the price of those swung the deal big time as like you say it's a fabulous picture

Ok, I'm a bit bamboozled by the 100 tv offers on this site this week. Why is this better than the 50 inch Samsung from richersound?

The 800 has a true 10 bit panel whilst the 810 panel s 8 bit+frc

I have seen all sorts of forums on both the 800 & 810 people saying it's one and the other don't know who to believe as they both said they had spoken to LG technicians. I don't really know how much of a difference it makes to me to be honest as there ain't much actual 4k content just now anyway. I'm only going with what I seen in store and it looks a great picture. Which said there both the same bar the stand at the bottom? How much of a difference will 10 bit make v 8+FRC? I don't have a clue lol

There was a big debate the other day about the 810 being 10 bit or 8 bit. LG can confirm by telephone that they are both 8 bit?

its a 8 + 2 . You will never get a native 10 bit below £1k ..... There are some stupid people out there

It is the wide colour gammit that you should look at , forget the faux 10 bit and 8 + 2 . Just think why is it so cheap ? . Hope these sell out quick , then only the decent TV's will be left

So what do you recommend for around the same price?

No idea , Andy . I would pay more for better quality . I'm not slating LG as i have owned them for some years now . If you could afford more and wanted an LG . go for the 850V / 950V series . I'm looking into the 65" size and the 55 i have now will go into the bedroom .
Not a fan of OLED ( maybe in a couple of years or so) may be tempted . All I can say is , if you sit more than 3 metres away , don't waste your money on a 4K tv

Okay thanks. Well my budget is around £600, £700 at a push. I do sit quite close to the screen but I don't know the exact distance. Been looking at this 800v, the Samsung 6400 and the Panasonic ex700b. Also just noticed that the Samsung 7000 is down to under £700. Not expecting amazing quality, just something that's noticeably better than my current HD TV.

You could go look at TV's and compre pics . I know they will not be ideal surroundings as they will probably be set in "store" mode . I would take a movie on usb and go plug it in ( make sure u have salesperson with u ) and see how it plays . Also just visit some AV Forums or google search reviews . Just don't get carried away by cheap prices and the hype , better to wait and get what you want , than spend money and realise it was a mistake .

Typical people don’t own the f....g tv but still moan about it.
Go in store and look at them side by side and decide for yourself.

That's exactly what I did...went into a store and looked at the like for like and thought the 810 or 800 looked great and get a good review almost everywhere I have looked. Yeah I could pay more but I don't think it's worth the price difference for the what I can see with my eyes.

Not yet but I will with my Xbox soon. Though to be fair I'm not a serious gamer as in playing online when the lag factor might make more of a difference!

I bought this today. LOVE IT! The picture quality is outstanding! And the sound is decent. The only thing I'm not keen on is the automatic dimming, but I think that's across all LGs except the OLEDs. I'll get one of those one day. Once they cone down to under 1k...

Bought one myself yesterday, and i am really immersed and impressed. Watch the Dolby at mos and vision demos on you tube...

Does the code TV10 work on this offer for a further 10% off?

You can disable the auto dimming, I have. I'm really pleased with mine, got it on friday but only realised last night that it does speech recognition and there's a mic in the remote, brilliant for launching apps and searching youtube (from what I've seen so far anyway)

Yeah, the speech recognition is cool! I've tried to disable the dimming and I think I've reduced and improved it, but I can't disable it completely. Any tips?

press the setting (cog icon) on your remote, go to the bottom of the onscreen menu on the right and click on all settings, then click picture (in lefthand menu) then click energy saving and select off - hope this helps (you might want to move it out of eco mode too - mine is on standard)

Thanks! I did that yesterday, and it has def reduced it, but it still dims sometimes. I particularly notice it when I'm watching stranger things, coz I think they use the light and dark together a lot for mood purposes.

Cheers! I wouldn't mind if it did it by smaller areas, but it's just that it appears to do it in about 6 vertical sections. Irritates me. But apart from that (which hopefully I will rarely notice) I LOVE it. The picture is out of this world!!!

The 49MU6400 (silver version) is £550 in Currys, compared to £600 for the 49MU6470 (this one, which is more grey). The 49MU6400 is also £529 at John Lewis. From what it seems, the grey version reportedly has a different remote and has "supreme" UHD dimming rather than UHD dimming in the silver version. So perhaps you may want to consider the silver version since it's significantly cheaper and is very similar to the more expensive grey version. The LG seems like a fairly good deal, WebOS is better than Tizen.

I've looked at this as well just holding on hoping it'll come down a bit!
