that is a fair point.
This is the best deal at the moment on a 49" SUHD Tv. Don't think the price will fall any lower than this, so nab this while you can!!

Yes and the fact that too many deals/tv deals have been posted today, also doesn't help. It's a good deal nevertheless. Better than the one I posted

Just checked, Currys Ebay have sold 52 of these TVs in the past 5 hours!! Feel sorry for Richer Sounds & John Lewis, should have price matched when I called them . Also feel sorry for Crampton & Moore, shouldn't have raised their price cheekily by £20. Oh well....

Im still holding out for a 55" deal with decent warranty, if that Coop one came with 5 years warranty I would have got it.

Look on Ebay pages of Currys or Crampton & Moore - both offer 5 years warranty with high end tvs?

Too expensive at £675. Mu budget was £550 for a good 55" 4K with at least 3 years warranty
How does the warranty work with eBay.
currys states 12'months warranty via eBay ( I think this is to show benefit if purbchasing through eBay , basically being covered for 12 months) but what about 5 years

hopefully they honour that, as one of the reasons I purchased it, £75 cheaper than John lewis

i have emailed Curry's to see, already purchased though

As I said on the 800 thread, the IPS panel and the fact it's RGBW would put me off.

You'll get good viewing angles with the IPS panel but more likely to have uniformity issues vs a VA panel. Plus it's not true 4K either with the RGBW arrangement.

You won't get something better than this in this sort of price range. For a true 10 bit (doesn't make much of a difference to picture, but may be a psychological difference) you'll have to spend upwards of £800-£900, and even that would be crap & you'd have to look at OLED's for a real 10 bit panel. So, for the price, this is very good and is compatible with all major HDR specs.

I'm not thinking even in terms of HDR, as I agree, you need to be spending near four figures to get something worthwhile from the 2017 range in any manufacturer.

You've a few options at this price point. Hisense N6800, Sony EX70 and the Panasonic EX700. I'd take them all over the LG.

The LG does have the better OS out of the four, WebOS is great on TVs.

Why would you take thme over the LG?

Why would you take thme over the LG?

One of the three I mentioned above. Personal preference though. The LG will have wider viewing angles by nature of it being an IPS panel, but the black levels won't be as good as a VA one and they're true 4K as well, not an RGBW arrangement. The RGBW doesn't sit right with me, just LG cutting corners.

Depends what's important to whoever is buying.

Nearer 90 now, great business for Curry’s.

I have this TV, more than happy with it and really good price.

By the way, I found this really helpful when calibrating the pic settings as the default didn’t look too good.

Just looking at the pic settings for the 50DX750B. They're very, very different from AVForums who I'd tend to put more faith in.

They haven't reviewed it. My point was that what Which? was suggesting for a TV that I have is way, way off what someone like AVForums is suggesting and what I'd expect to see.

I have the 49SJ800v and i can tell you the picture quality is superb across the board thats SD, HD, UHD, HDR and HLG Had to tweak settings a little to get it as i liked and also the black levels are good. My son was here over xmas and he played assassins creed origins and middle earth shadow of war on xbox one and said the picture quality was superb and the response time was very impressive much better than his sony 4k. I dont know why all these so called tv experts on here dont like LG tv's unless they are OLED and 99% of them dont own one or even seen one. These are the new NANO CELL TV'S and whatever that technology is it is bloody good. I am wondering myself if this is something on the lines of a slightly stripped down version of OLED. as oled is a form of rgbw . Anyway if anyone wants the picture settings i am using just let me know and i will post them
