Offering the Ultra HD 4k resolution for stunning viewing, the LG 49UF680V Smart Ultra HD 4k 49" LED TV delivers high quality entertainment. It includes built-in WiFi to make connecting to the internet a breeze.

Ultra HD 4k resolution

The 49UF680V boasts the Ultra HD 4k resolution that packs an impressive 8.3 million pixel onto its 49" screen. This provides you with the best possible detail - up to four times the resolution of Full HD.

The IPS technology means that everyone gets a great view of the screen, wherever they're sitting. It delivers stunning true colour from any angle, so you can enjoy all of your content.

It also includes a 4k upscaler that converts lower resolution entertainment to near 4k standard. It uses a six-step image processing technology to upgrade the images, so you can enjoy everything in high detail.

Smarter viewing

The LG webOS Smart TV platform means that you can enjoy the best internet content on the 49UF680. It provides a whole new way to watch entertainment.

The webOS platform is easy to use, so you can enjoy simple and intuitive use. Enjoy catch up TV from BBC iPlayer or movie streaming, browse the internet from your sofa or choose from a range of apps.

I've got the non 4K version of this and I have to say it's mint imho' and it's held its price in 6 months with no real reduction.

Sometimes you do get what you pay for

Heat added.

I'm biased towards LG but only because I have 3 now with no issues' great connectivity located on the side ( not the back ) more so for usb not so much HDMI or scart' optical audio is important too if you intend to add a decent soundbar etc.

Nothing wrong with Phillips in my experience either but they've fell well behind with televisions of late which isn't a good sign ( playing catch up )

Connectivity / location of connections are the things I look out for ( apart from the usual specs ) - hope this helps.

thats maybe because philips no longer make tv`s tpvision own a 70% stake of philips tv business

Oh right' stick with LG then - no brainer really isn't it ( avoid an unknown re-badged product )
Is this 2.0 hdmi? Even if not it's a cracking price.

That's good!!!
Still seems expensive for what it is.
Can someone please point out the differences between this and hotukdeals.com/dea…238 besides the brand, I'm not sure which one to plunge for.
Do LG's still suffer with the banding/smearing issue that they had 2-3 years ago ??
I went through 3 LG TVs and returned them due to banding. I found out that it was something to do with the way the anti reflective coating is applied and on fast moving video such as sports looked like crap.
I ended up with a Samsung plasma but it's showing its age now.
Rubbish tv. Just returned my 55 inch version as the blur and pixels on fast moving images was so bad.
Football and movies are horrible to watch on this. I tried all settings and tried tweaking things but poor motion rate can't be helped
its been this price for at least a month!! I bought the 850V version which is a better picture and has a 5 yr guarantee for £629 so it might be an option to shell out the extra £130 for the upgraded model with a 5yr warranty!!!

maybe you should have bought the model I have which is the 850v which has 1600pmi as opposed to 1000pmi on this model. I dont get that issue in SD.

Whatever
Cracking price for a good tv
LG are not too keen on getting anything but their top of the range TVs reviewed at the moment, that is because they know they do not fair well.

This TV has an IPS panel, good viewing angle but not so good when it comes to blacks.

I think you will find that this TV is also exclusive to Currys and PC World so they can basically set the price with no competition.
This or SAMSUNG UE48JU6400 which I'm holding out to drop in price
I do alot of gaming and films and have found LG to be crap for both. Look washer out at times with blacks and motion issues.
Gaming on LG I have found impossible online
I've just bought what I assume is the newer model of this (770 49") and I am extremely pleased with it, no problems with games or sport so far as I can tell and the upscaling on HD is brilliant. Not sure what the difference is between the 680 and 770 is though.

Edit. Just looked it up and it would appear it's the proccesor speed and the 680 can't use vp9.

we have the 47lb630v and it is amazing for gaming
If you want gaming with the best input lag just get a Sony. X83 or the bigger x85. You'll thank me later!

LG have been plagued with their motion and bad up scaling even on the higher models. They're improving though to how bad it was a few years ago.

Would love to but cant see them being in my £500 budget
Had the smaller one of this when it came out! Crap, wifi in these tvs are crap! Got a Samsung 4K in June this year and it's fantastic, no problem connecting to wifi or loading Netflix
Is this the cheapest 4K TV out there?
Is this a "real" 4k TV? I'm sure I read recently that many of the LG low-mid end TVs are not "real" 4k an per industry standard....

I will try and find the article........ Or I could have had too many mince pies...:)

The community seems to be disagreeing with you based on its top ten deal of the day ranking.

Post a couple of alternatives to help folk out, looks good to me but I wouldn't know where to start for a much better deal.

"Ultra HD" which is 3840*2160 and used mainly on tvs

Not a 'smart' TV. You need extra like Riki or Amazon stick

Here is one review mentioning the 'fake 4K'

Not sure if this relates to the UF680.

I just don't think its value for money, I would wait 6 months to 12 months.

Isnt the the case with all technology? Something better comes out in 6 / 12 months.

If you need a TV now this looks like a very good buy.
Guess I'm fed up with poor technology. As back to the future has shown, we are way behind with where we should be by 2015
