Nice one ty

I have the 40 inch in this model and input lag is not really noticeable.

It has a "game" picture mode anyway to negate it, by turning off the processing etc.

It's a cracking TV and the picture along with the IPS panel makes for great viewing.

Yeah I don't know what went on there. It kept saying my message had been sent for moderation. All I was doing was saying thanks for the initial reply lol. Weird.

I am actually using it in a real life scenario.

Like I said, not noticeable on game mode, and I play all sorts of games, including multiple FPS.

60ms must be wrong.

I'll give it a good test tomorrow when it arrives with a few games, and blu-ray, freeview HD upscaling etc and report back. FPS gaming isn't the main focus of the tv for me, and probably a lot of others. I saw it running some 4k content in a store locally and it just looked superb compared to most of the others. The viewing angles also looked amazing.

Quite a few TVs dropping in price, stores preparing for this years range maybe?

looks like a good deal! thanks for the link.

Web OS 2.x as well, so a decent smart TV interface unlike the hopeless Sony Android ones. It probably doesn't have Plex app built in anymore though. So if you need Plex you'll need a NowTV box etc.

I have a projector with 14ms off lag and I find my LG that's about 60 unplayable.

I suppose if you havent played with pretty much zero lag u will not notice.

Hi all, I have never posted before normally just nose about :). I'm going to buy a to tomorrow but can't decide what one is best - Samsung 48inch 6400 4K or LG 770 or 695, I keep being told the 695 is better than the 770 but don't make sense with the model
number. Any help would be great!

I think the 695 has slightly higher refresh rate but in my opinion the tv itself doesn't look as nice and I'm personally not a fan of the feet on each end. Also, the 695 doesn't come with the magic remote but the 770 does. There's probably more differences but they're the things that put me off the 695. Can't speak for the Samsung but was always between Samsung and LG for me. Friend of mine is a plasma scientist and develops technology for flexible screens. He always says that LG and Samsung are the way to go although I'd go LG OLED if I could afford it!!!

I have the 55" version. I play Xbox One on it and I don't notice any lag. I play a wide range of games. No issues. Great price. Hot.

They didn't rate it very high did they at 6.9 although saying that in America looks like they don't do the 49". I guess its just too small even for the bedroom or kitchen over there lol.

I seen this tv for a while now in Currys and even though I was impressed with the high quality image of the 4k screen when playing the manufacturers usb feed, it doesn't really give a good opinion of how the tv is when viewing normal television programmes. LG have been very clever in creating a 4k demo image which is very slow moving, more like a slide show of pictures. At least this was the demo showing in my local Currys. I set the tv to bbc 1 channel 1 and did the same on the Sony 50" next to it and one of the Samsung 4k tv's on the other side. What I saw next surprised me. The Sony had easily the best picture on SD. The Sony won again on HD but there was not much between them. If 4k tv's are supposed to upscale the image of HD transmissions then there was no evidence of this looking at the three tv's. The Sony still had the best picture in my opinion with the LG a very close second and the Samsung which had been on my shopping list was easily dropped.

Now I am not disrespecting the LG here. At the time the Sony was £100.00 cheaper and that would have won it for me based on the price and picture quality, but if I had bought that day and the Sony wasn't available I may have been happy to walk away with the LG. It was £649.00 then so at this price makes it a damn good deal. The magic remote works really well and LG have made a much needed improvement over its previous WEBOS 01 models which were awful.

Something else alot of people prob skip is the chroma and also hdr on them because the hdr is part of the future proof.
So many 4k tvs on market now can't even do average refresh rates at 4k and many other things yet masked by other numbers.

What Samsung was you looking at?
Im so undecided in what I want. It's gonna get to point I wait until sept/Oct when next range comes out lol

The Samsung I was referring to was the UE50JU6800. I didn't like it. I am a bit biased against 4k and don't see it as a major factor when buying a tv at the minute. The reason being is I don't and can't have fibre. I only have 5/6 mbps broadband so no good for streaming. I don't have sky anymore and sky will use 4k as another excuse to rip people off. Bluray is such high quality these days as are dvd's upscaled and am pleased with the present quality of both. I don't wish to buy a 4k bluray player. It will be a long long time before we ever see any 4k terrestrial transmissions. If they had enough bandwidth now we would be having more channels in HD. ITV2, 3 and 4 are available on sky in HD so why not on freeview. I am told it is because of bandwidth but I also question has it something to do with sky having a share in freeview as ITV2, 3 and 4 HD are not available on freesat either and I wouldn't have thought bandwidth issues would apply as much to satellite transmissions.

So in summing that up there would be absolutely no point in my purchase of a 4k tv over a 1080 tv. There is also the added problem, particularly with LG, of input lag for gaming. I use an xbox. Some 4k tv's are better than others with Samsung offering some decent input lag on some of their 4k tv's but most LG are terrible.

In my choice for a tv I would just simply buy whichever tv was in my budget checking first which has the best picture on terrestrial channels and ignoring totally of how well they look when playing the very cleverly made manufacturers usb stick. If that tv happened to be a 4k then so be it but for now I see no benefit for me in choosing 4k over 1080. Not forgetting also that the experts state that in order to benefit from 4k's 'superior' image, with a 50" screen you will need to sit 5 feet or closer to the screen. Personally I don't see what the fuss is all about but looking at the recent deals for 1080 tv's, now would be a good time to snap one up and wait and see what happens in the next two or three years. A bargain will still be a bargain if its 1080 or 4k.

I bet you wished you had never asked lol.

uuuu this is brilliant! anyone got £527 to lend me?

Thanks OP! Just ordered one. I should have read your post properly though as I got the cashback through Topcashback which offered 3% after VAT (tracked at £13.03) . Assuming Quidco does the same thing, I lost out on a fiver.

I've got it set up now and I'm a bit blown away by it I have to say! The magic remote is absolutely amazing. The picture quality is good for normal Sky tv. HD channels look really good. Blue Ray and 4K is just outstanding. Love being able to control the tv from the LG TV Plus app too. Web OS is by far the nicest/slickest OS I've seen on a smart tv (I'm a designer so I appreciate these things!). As you can tell... Well chuffed for just a little over £500!

thanks

Hi Ben,

Did you connect your skybox thru hdmi with the tv or can you directly connect the cable from dish antenna to the tv? I did that with my previous tv and avoided the hassle of keeping a skybox... Plus i dont record anything...

Yeh I used HDMI from the Sky Box cause I often record and watch something else etc so needed the dual channels. I noticed it had a satellite input though - could be useful at some point! You might be able to still record onto USB stick/drive.

You are all incredibly knowledgeable with this so I thought Id actually message you and ask if thats ok. I currently play on a 32" LG 9 years old so really in need of replacing we are upscaling to a minimum of 48in. Its primarliy for gaming and my absolute max budget would be £399. not overly bothered by 4k or ultra HD at the min... any reccomendations? my geek level doesnt stretch to tvs lol. Im planning on running an android box for TV's so anyone help? obviously I want as min lag input as I can get (FPS PS4)
