This TV has been at this price once before just after Black Friday but has since been at £850.

I bought this during the Black Friday deal for £649 when Quidco were still offering 15% cash back through Curry's.

Picture, sound and interface are all fantastic. I don't think there is another TV at this size and price that comes close. HD and 4K media both look fantastic and quality of 3D will blow your socks off.

It's this a good TV?
yes it's a good tv. I'm going to buy one..

however this isn't an amazing price.

lowest it's been is 540 recently.

it's 599 on amazon from another supplier at the moment.

I'm holding out until it hits 550 or less. soon as it does I'm buying.
Yeah I see that. My telly has packed up so need it now. Thanks, what's the htz on this?
£599 from Amazon via third party but you have to pay for postage. This is still the cheapest for this set with a 5yr guarantee that I can see.
This tv is amazing and this is a great price
Also bought this just after Black Friday when Quidco was at 15%. For the money its amazing. Not perfect but still brilliant. Worth £629!

I'm pretty sure it's 120Hz
I was one of the few people that had issues with the tv when it was on offer last time and had to return for a refund due to bleeding of the screen and very blurring

That's a shame as must have been a defective unit. I've had no bleeding problems and had no issues with motion blur.
Does this have the magic remote? Anyone had any success at haggling in currys, would like to get this for under £600?

One can haggle (barter) anywhere.
does anyone know if this takes satellite signal directly i.e freesat? Mixed info out there.
I think a 5% haggle would be successful at Currys. More probable on a Tuesday. Make sure the shop is quiet and wear leather shoes.

I seem to recall hearing that the latest software update unlocked this capability. Hopefully someone else can confirm this for you.

Wait until Relic Hunter comes back on Channel 11 which I believe is Pick channel and then tell me if your tv has motion blur or judder. It is a nice tv though but there are some programmes it just cannot process properly.

I bought last time also and had issues with poor blacks, blurring and freesat channels (didnt seem to pick up the HD ones very well). Returned it as my old set seemed to have a much richer picture.
Just ordered

Sure it wasn't the 55" that was £850? I have the 55" and paid £849 with 13% quidco in November. (Which I'm still waiting on)
I bought this tv after weeks of research. it came down to this model vs sony 49x8309. Both tvs scored 61% by Which.
In the end the priced dropped and also the webos magic remote won it. Magic remote is brilliant. Just point at the screen to move the cursor.
Is this currys standerd price for this now, or is it part of their weekend sale which ends Monday? I want this TV but not quite got the funds yet,
Good tv. Paid 649 with 13% cash back in November. Magic remote is brilliant and picture quality is stunning. I am still waiting for 5 years warranty paper work from Currys even after contracting them few weeks ago , is it just me or others have not received it either?
Was about to order Sony Bravia KDL50W80 LED HD 1080p 3D Android TV, 50" (449 through Jean-Lewis price match) , and this deal comes....

Which is a better smart tv / deal?

61%? Is that good? oO
I personally don't think 61% is a true reflection of this tv.it should be more considering this price. Its got a Great picture, very fast at opening apps, magic remote is brilliant. As for sound., its not bad but still get a sound bar.
Middle of the road set. Below average colour gamut, no deep blacks, motion issues/slow response, clouding issues reported. The smart interface is very good. It's ok.

Which seems to favour Samsung (they often get closer to 80%)

That's exactly what I was thinking. I bought a 55" Samsung TV a couple of years ago after it was given a score of about 80% by Which (it was a "Best Buy" at this score). Assuming the folks at Which aren't a bunch of cowboys, I'll be looking for a loftier score than 61% before I splash out.
O2 priority £20 so £609 not bad with 5 years warranty

I guess most important thing is to compare in the shop and see which suits you best.

I felt the build quality of the LG was better and I also preferred the wide viewing angles of the IPS screen. Black levels were better on the a Samsung, however you can always tweak settings a little to help that.

I had to contact them a few times too. My paperwork arrived last week.
Can plex be used on this tv?
