LG 49UJ630V- 49inch 4K UltraHD HDR Smart LED TV £389.00 Co-Op Electrical after code and membership discount

CP40 code for £40 off + £70 membership discount
RGBW panel - remember you have been warned

Bought the 43UJ630V (same model, smaller screen size at 43") 3 weeks back, had to return it. The screen was fantastic to view if you were sat right in front of it and in line, but if you were viewing it from the side (which should be okay as this is an IPS panel with 178 degrees of viewing) and not in line with the centre of the screen, it wasn't clear at all. Other problem was that it wasn't bright enough (played around with settings, but not as good as my old LG 1080p non 4K tv). My suggestion would be to go to any store that sells this and if they have a viewing room, view this tv and try to view from the sides, rather than the middle of the screen.

I paid £389 for a 43" variant of this tv and this is 49", so for the price this is hot.

I picked up a 49SJ800 from Richer Sounds earlier today for £599 with a 6 year warranty. I went for that one because it was slightly upgraded compared to the one in this deal, e.g 10 bit panel rather than 8 and a freesat tuner built in. I was really happy with my purchase, especially considering the 6 year warranty. The OP just squashed my happiness though. This is a blinder of a deal. Have some heat!

how would one get a membership code to purchase this right now??

Paid 489 for it's 55 inch big brother earlier on this year. Then bought a ps4 pro that I don't use on it Therefore I've been looking for an UHDTV for the games room for a while to use with the ps4 pro. Think I've found the solution.

Not far better... RGBW panel as well

Code doesn't stack with the membership discount for me. I can get the membership discount or the £40 off

Never mind it's working now, however in the terms and conditions it says that the discount is not to be used in conjunction with other discount codes so they are well within their rights to cancel it. Hopefully it comes through, I've had my eye on this TV for a couple of weeks now!

Well recommended tv as i own one comes with standard remote but magic remote can be purchased through a 3rd party online so you can voice command and set sound

Anyone actually bought this tv at this price and can prove it, receipt etc? 🤔

It definitely shows as 389 in the basket with the code and co-op membership number but I'm not checking out as I need a 43 inch TV.

There's far more to how good a TV is than just the panel type. For example, I imagine the SJ800 will be far better at displaying 4K content and content in general without stuttering, I imagine it will be a lot brighter, the SJ800 also offers local dimming which will make HDR content look better, and many more reasons.

You should start with that SJ800 have fake 4K panel, so will never be "far better" tv

SJ800 has impressive picture in HD and motion is very good. 4K is superb despite its 8 bit panel. I would advise go to somewhere like Richer Sounds and put it through its paces if you want to see what “more” you get for your cash. Compared to the UJ models, to me it is noticeably nicer picture and that is worth paying for. I think if you have budget around £550-600: it will be best available 49inch when the price reduces to that level. It’s been as low as £639 recently. Each to their own of course.

Don't be silly, at this size the unusual subpixel structure makes absolutely no difference to the details in typical TV watching.

If they both have RGBW panels then that is a moot point. The SJ800 is far better in many other ways. And other TVs are better than the SJ800 in other ways.

It really does, connect any of these RGBW sets to a UK pointed satellite dish and key in channel 998 on freesat. The 4k test channel found here looks nothing short of shocking when comparing to a true 4k panel.

I have the previous gen of this tv and it is awesome, especially if you get the LG wand remote. The UI is the best on the market.

totally agree with poster of this deal..we bought the 43" version about 5 days ago, its very dull , the picture is not bright at all unless you are sitting right in front of it..treid adjusting settings but not as good as the non 4k smart lcd tv i have upstairs which is samsung..we got it from richer sounds with 6 years warranty, originally wanted the samsung 40" 4k for £399 but salesman said this was better and they never had that in stock..might return this for samsung model..

Have you actually genuinely done this? Or have you just read about someone doing it?

Similar here was looking as 49UJ6xx at about £489 but awaiting a 49SJ800 from AO (£619 with voucher)
FYI SJ models are Super UHD panel and not RGBW

Not happening for me either. I've only just signed up for membership but when I enter my number it shows no discount.

Tried it myself on the 49UH620V, not saying the channel looked 1080p but it just didn't look anywhere near the standard that it does on my smaller screen hisense or my Philips.

Good price but its not worth upgrading to 4K at the moment due to a lack of content (IMO). If you current TV breaks then you might as well go 4K. Does anyone know how SD looks on this set?

I've narrowed down my TV choices to Sony or LG, but I've read that LG do RGBW panels in their lower mid range TVs.

Are the LG "Super UHD" TVs RGB or RGBW?

RGBW

CP40 doesn't work unless you spend over £499.

CTV20 works for £20 off (TV orders over £249) plus the £70 membership discount plus about £6 through Quidco.

What sort of member do you have to be?

njdavis1037 m ago

RGBW

Guess it's going to have to be Sony then. Thanks for the info.

RGBW panel - remember you have been warned - what this? how i need to do to get this price please?
