But, the Panny is no good for fast moving objects:

I was not disputing your fake 4K panel comment, I was pointing out that the Panasonic has a limitation that people should be aware of.

For information, I have an 'old technology' Sony HD TV so cannot give a personal opinion on 4K panels - fake or not!

This or the Philips 6272?
I wouldn't recommend anything with an IPS panel like this. It's prone to backlight bleeding and not very good in the sunlight. Go for VA panels like the Samsung 50MU6120 which is around £40 more at John Lewis with a 5 year guarantee. This TV is also £399 (634v/635v are exactly the same) at JL with a 5 year warranty. I recommend the Samsung to everyone.

This or the Philips 6272?

Philips hands down, won awards and has brilliant 3-sided Ambilight
Had this TV for the last 6 or so months and overall I'm incredibly impressed. TV tech has come a long way since I bought my old Samsung oled 1080p, for about 1200 pounds a few years ago. I can be quite critical when spending a fair bit on something but at the same time Im realistic that a TV like this is not in the same league of a b6/b7 etc...

Champions league final in 4k was brilliant with not even a slight judder. Netflix and things like creed origins / forza horizon 3 in 4k HDR running on the Xbox One X look incredible.

My only slight quibble at the minute, is the recent firmware update has made the game mode quite dark by default. You can make it brighter with changing things like dynamic contrast but it could do with another update. I might look at reverting to an old firmware. For now when watching Netflix I just change from game to standard, to give it a brightness boost. Also it can do things like ARC with a soundbar.

If you're interested in grabbing one, make sure you turn off trumotion in the menus. Also hdmi ultra HD deep colour is hidden down in the 'general' part of the menu. You need to turn this on if you have an Xbox One X, for full 4k and HDR to work.

For this money (40 less than I paid) it's really hard to find fault.
Is this TV same as the 49UJ635V?
Would you recommend?

It always ticks me off when I see rubbish like this in every TV deal thread. What do you expect for £399? Not everyone has £1,400 to blow on an OLED TV!

What rubbish ? Which other company uses RGBW panels ? Only LG sells fake 4K panels - you can buy other brands at this price with 4K panel

This or the Philips 6272?

I have just returned my 6272 for one of these.

The ambilight on the Philips looks great. Everything else is poor. Picture quality was very average unless you’re in full 4K and the motion was equally as bad. Forget watching football. Also if you are a gamer at all then the Philips is shocking, largely down to the motion again. Flicker like hell. The smart features of the Philips might as well not be there. Apps are always crashing and it disconnects at its own will from the internet, after which the only way to get it back on is disconnecting and reconnecting at the mains. It is also very slow to navigate and barely ever updates software through the internet, meaning you’ll have to do it via USB. FYI I have a faultless fibre internet connection to which the TV was connected via ethernet. All of the above problems were down to the TV itself.

The LG runs on Android and I’m yet to have a problem. Go for the LG. Picture is crisper, it’s far more reliable and useable. There is also a much better range of apps (which actually work).

There’s a lot of talk on here about the LG backlight panel. Depending on how important that is to you you may want to research it more. Having owned both TVs, however, I say 100% go with the LG.

Wow that's pretty outrageous. The HDR con every manufacturer plays these days is bad enough, but LG goes one step further with fake 4k. How have they not been sued yet? I assume they're using some kind of loophole to get away with advertising 4k?
Same price on amazon for the 630v version which is apparently not fake 4k?

Genuine review instead of people fighting and pretending they are tv experts, hopefully people will read this before they buy instead of the riff raff that doesn't actually make a difference to most people.

My current tv is an LG (SJ800v) and my old TV was an LG HD. So in my experience LGs are fantastic.. never any input lag so great for gaming. Picture has always been great and personally I go for LG thanks to the Kardon sound system (unsure if this has it). Never needed a sound bar. Interface is simple as well.

LG TVs are great, don't let fake experts put you off.

Great tv, I’ve had it a few months now, Netflix , YouTube and bbc iPlayer all looks great in 4k and hdr 8+2, I run it with a nvidia shield with prefect player iptv along with streaming steam in 4k via nvidia GeForce now. For the money I don’t think you could find a better TV set around £350 mark. I highly recommend it if your looking to upgrade a 1080 set and just in time for the World Cup in 4k HLG free from bbc iPlayer. Off course it’s no Samsung 7000 series etc but we all know at this price point. The wife and kids love the easy to use websos and the Freesat is also pretty handy.

NB: I did follow a decent calibration setting how to , found on google when I first got it which greatly improved the overall picture but default setting was not too bad for outta the box settings.

I wouldn't pay too much attention personally. You have to ignore a lot on this site and concentrate on the important bits. All I'd say is its a great TV for the price and I've seen no slowdown on anything I've put in to it, 4k or fake 4k (I'll get mine rebadged) is a massive upgrade from my previous TV and I'm dead happy.

I set my expectation level on the value of things. If you're expecting a 2k TV for 400 notes then don't bother. You'll be more than happy if you set your expectation right.

Places like argos are pretty decent on returns etc if you're not impressed with it but check policies with Curries etc before you buy. Go and look at one in a store etc you've plenty of options. Hope this helps.

Professional review says: average picture quality, passable contrast ratio, mediocre HDR peak brightness, mediocre viewing angles and poor blacks... there are also visible effects of RGBW panel resulting in some artifacts when displaying text. AV forums suggests to spend bit more and buy Samsung MU6400...
