Its an IPS panel so good colours, viewing angle, brightness but poor contrast

Most of the sonys have VA panels which have great contrast but poor viewing angles and average colours

Choose £10 for every goal England score or choose £5 for every goal Brazil score.

Got to go for Brazil for this surely?? They are likely finalists, wehereas England may make it to QF if it goes well!

Which one will be a better choice this LG or the samsung m.richersounds.com/!/product/sams-ue48h6400

I like LG TVs but I wouldn't buy an LG TV without 5 year warranty. My LG TV failed just after an year. Thankfully had the JL 5 year warranty and they gave me a full refund on the TV instead of a repair. I think it was the panel which was fault and was too expensive to replace. If you are buying something worth £500, I suggest getting at least a 3 year warranty.

Good TV and good deal. A 5 year warranty would have been excellent. Heat added though!

Heat added, hopefully will still be on offer & in stock when I've moved house

Does any know if John Lewis does this tv, would rather get it from them with 5 years guarantee. Thanks

Don't forget to ask them to recommend the most expensive HDMI cable they have to make sure you get the "full" HD picture on your new TV bbc.co.uk/pro…les

But... but... I bought gold-plated platinum-zinc ultra-4k-HD HDMI cable from Dr Dre and I could immediately see the difference. Blacks are much deeper, contrast improved, there are more details now and Scarlett Johansson's chest features are now visible through the clothing! At £79.95 it is well worth the price!

I got the HDMI spiel from Currys when we bought our first 3D TV in 2011, £18 they wanted as the cheaper cables wouldn't do 3D. Funny that, the pound shop cable worked fine! Comet were far worse in my own experience pushing their "Monster" branded tat.

I'm with you, Stats are here:

http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/statisticsandrecords/associations/association=bra/worldcup/

which implies they might sort of be the same this year - (about £30-60?) but England are in a really tough group, and Brazil are hosting.

All we need is 70-0 against the Italians & it would make this a cheap telly.

Shame Nigeria aren't in the same group ...I'm sure the whole team would have bought a Curry's sourced TV beforehand & you'd then get such a scoreline.

That's a tough one.

You may be better off asking the same at the AV Forums in this subsection (arguably more boffins there for this sort of thing): http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-led-lcd-tvs.155/

Not any more unfortunately. Go for the Richer Sounds one if you can, as they also offer a 5 year guarantee.

I'm not sure how likely it is they will score twice as many goals as England tho, as poor as we are I think I'd go for the England option.
I want an lg TV but not without 5yr guarantee so I'll keep looking

Last World Cup Brazil scored 9 (5 group stages, 3 in last 16 and 1 in QF) England scored 3 (2 group stage, 1 in last 16)

Would have been £45 for Brazil, £30 for England
