That is a lot of branded TV for the money.

I've got a few LG TVs and very happy with them.
My old 50" LG Went capput yesterday. Date of mañana tired on back JULY 2006. So 10 years out of a TV ain't bad is it. Was just wonder to g how this compares to other deals. Who would recommend this

How this one compares to LG 50LF652V which is for £20 more.

Don't no about other things but the 3d panel would offer the better picture.

Never went beyond 100 deg thou.
Doesn't have webos which will be a blessing when scrolling through the tv guide and menus. WEBOS 1 was awful. It was also slow and laggy. I don't use my smart tv as a smart tv anymore as my fire tv and Youview box are faster. Just moved my router to the back of the tv now and its better now its not wireless but its still slow and buggy. I don't know why people rave above LG smart tv's as we have two and the dedicated boxes we have for catch are just so much better. Samsung and Sony maybe be better perhaps but its a bit of a poor show when a £30.00 catch up tv box is better for smart services than a tv costing £100's. Tv manufacturers would be better off giving you a standard tv and throwing in an amazon fire stick.

I see the tv is advertised as having an IPS screen. If this is something you were after make sure that the one in the shop has an IPS screen as my tv, advertised with IPS by LG, does not. You can check by the product code also. On the box and on the back of the tv there is a product code. The last seven digits are letters. The fourth letter tells you who the manufacturer of the panel is. LG IPS panels as follows.

U - LG Display Co.Ltd. IPS
P - LG Display Co.Ltd. IPS
Q - LG Display Co.Ltd. IPS
V - LG Display Co.Ltd. IPS
R - LG Display Co.Ltd. IPS

Following is IPS but made by someone else
H - CHI MEI Innolux (IPS)

Following codes are not IPS

(ТN)

As an example the product code of my tv is 50LB650v-ZN.BEKDLJG. The letter D in the product code would point to an A-MVA panel by AU Optronics and therefore not IPS panel by LG.

There are some other codes which point to an LG panel but my information doesn't show if there are IPS panels or not. Codes are W, Y and Z.

Bear in mind that LG may change their product codes at will but the above information was true for the tv's I have manufactured in 2014 and 2015.

Considering all of the above the tv offers excellent value for money. Just a shame about the stupid feet for a stand mount which means you next a big unit to stand it on.

You show me where it says its 3D and I'll show you where it mentions passive...
Dont think its a good deal. The Non smart version costs only £329. Think its LG 50lf561. Been postes here just search LG 50 U'll find it. Or i think both currys n argos do this price.
I bought this last time it was this price. Excellent tv, the picture is fantastic on hd only down side is the sound quality, but turn it up and its ok. Great tv for price.
I've had this set for a few months and its been excellent. One added bonus is as it has a satellite tuner lg have made a deal to bring the freesat service to most of their lg smart sets in the future.
