LG 50LF580V Smart Freeview HD 1080p £399 @ Currys

Apologies for any mistakes, posting from my phone.

I purchased this set about 1.5 months ago for £499, very impressed with its picture quality on SD, 720p and 1080p. It's feature rich with SMART although uses the NetOS rather than the other type but I have a media center anyway so it doesn't bother me.

It's software upgradable, WiFi and has HDMI 2.0 weirdly but not sure how much use it is for 1080p. It does have a HDMI Arc as well.

Hopefully this will help anyone looking for a stop gap before buying into 4K - personally I'm waiting for content and for the prices of the real 4k TV's to drop.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding the TV and I will try and answer.

P.s. see post 18 for pictures.

Thanks,
Carson

Very good price
Bargain
Trying for a bit cheaper with bespoke offers. Can't find it on John Lewis website so no price match and 5 yr guarantee.

When I purchased it last month, it wasn't available anywhere else (at least the big names), it was a bit of a purchase and hope as there was little in the way of reviews... But I purchased it thinking it was a middle of the table TV, I was more than impressed at the quality. Even when it was £499 I think it was a bargain, now it's a steal

That looks very good indeed...
Don't think you would find a tv with 3usb 3hdmi, it even has a fta satellite tuner in that can work a motor.

is this TV worth getting, saw it earlier with rrp of 699 which I thought was optimistic, currently have a ambilight 42pfl7606, want something bigger but not a downgrade
Regarding the "netos" is that the one before the webos?

as you can see, I use a sound bar but the actual speakers are no worse nor no better than any other flat screen if that makes sense. I don't think my pictures do this screen justice, you wont be disapointed at SD, 720p or 1080p. I haven't noticed any of that ghosting you get with cheap TV's, it is a very good panel, deffos at less than £400.

As I say, I am very impressed even at £499

Thanks for taking the time to post, very useful. Shame about the links, but I manually entered in the google part.
I am really tempted by this deal, but it is slightly larger than I need, but at that price, I am really tempted.
This or the Sony KDL-40W705C from Amazon -> Bespoke (-18%cashback) for mostly PC gaming, any suggestions ?

I believe so, its still being updated (this is a 2015) it just didn't quite as - I have a media center so haven't spent a great deal on it, just needed a TV with FreeviewHD and good picture quality which ticks the boxes for me
Carsick do you play games at all? Will this be a good to for gaming on an xboxone?

Thanks
Does anyone know if the feet can be adjusted to a more central position to fit onto a small table? Many thanks

What does that mean? And what does that have to do with your links?

Seriously considering this

By who ? This site?? That's idiotic... Why not?
Got on in store yesterday after returning disappointing Samsung 32inch... Loving it and loving it even more when I seen it has a satellite input so I plugged in and the channel list isn't pretty and no fancy EPG and I can only get Channel 4 in HD but I have not done a search through every satellite yet but I am surprised how watchable SD is on a screen so big. I have been using Sky as a Freesat box for so long and I barely use it anyway so the possibility of getting rid of another box is awesome.
Phew it's going to be a painstaking process, I am searching 7 satellites, the ones I think will give me everything free has to offer, going to be so many duplicates but the good thing is you can fave channels and then tell it to only cycle through those faves... Gonna be a long day this has already been going 20 minutes..

I did read that lg have signed a deal to bring freesat to their smart sets with a satellite input.
